Wallpaper Boy

-

He grew up in a town in god knows where

He sat at the back of every class

He went on by without a hitch

He had no real friends

And when he disappeared

No one noticed for days upon days

No wonder why he ran away

-

Who was he? What was his name?

What did he like to do?

No one had a clue

He was – he was invisible

He blended into the background

Now he’s nowhere to be found

-

He never said a word before he went

He had no one to tell anyway

He left his parents in a state

He lived his life in obscurity

And when he went away

No one knew where he would go

The country? The city?

-

Oh he was a wallpaper boy

You couldn’t pick him out of a line

So he bolted out of there

To anywhere else

It didn’t matter to him

As long as he was gone

-

He was spotted in London

He was making a name of himself

Of course the name was fake

But he was not just a face in the crowd now

Some say he makes his way back home

Every year – on Christmas day

But I wouldn’t know
