YIELD

Adonis didn’t know when it started… or how it even started. But he had a feeling it had something to do with what he witnessed after his parents’ return.

At that time, he was still heartbroken from the events that took place almost a week earlier. It seems that the townsfolk had told his parents that Danae had eloped with Yori while the older twins had moved out. He was half-angry, half-glad that his parents bought it. Although, his father was furious at the news of Danae eloping. His mother somehow managed to get his father calm down after whispering something into his ears, the two then returning to their room.

He sighed before he decided to retire for the night as well… and that was when he saw it through the crack of their parents’ door. His mother had his legs wrapped around his father while moaning loudly while his father was mercilessly pounding into him.
Adonis wanted to simply walk away, honest!

But… but the way his father was pleasuring his mother… it painfully reminded him of how Artemis used to pleasure him. It didn’t help that Artemis is almost like the exact copy of his father, though with some minor facial differences, the hair length and shade along with the obvious stalker behavior that Artemis had…

Eventually, when his parents were done with their sensual dance, he quickly rushed back to his room, face flushed and feeling extremely… turned on. He knew how wrong it was but as days pass by, he noticed that his feelings for his father had gone onto the forbidden level.
As for his mother, he loves him, he truly did… But he couldn’t help to feel threatened whenever his mother is anywhere near his new love interest; that being almost all the time.

---

Ever since that day, whenever he saw his parents enter their room he would hide in the room that used to belong to the deceased older twins, patiently waiting to hear either they would simply retire for the night or engage in another sensual dance.

If they weren’t, he would return to his room feeling rather dejected and he would cry himself to sleep as he recalled all the memories that he had made with Danae, Artemis and Yori. Ah, if only he could return to those days again… those happy and carefree days…
And if they were, he would often imagine himself in his mother’s place, bitterly thinking to himself - that he would make a better music with his father compared to his mother – while he would attend to his needs in time with what he assumed were his father’s thrusts.

His routine continued for months and eventually his feeling of rivalry towards his mother turned to pure hatred and his feelings for his father turned to obsession. And he knew that something has to be done… he just knows it.

---

One day, he decided to tag along with his father to work since… well, that’s the only time that his mother wasn’t around with them.

“Please, dad. I could help out a little plus I’m nearing the age where I could work,” Adonis countered after his father had rejected his offer. But now he could see the little creases appear on his father’s forehead, a sign that he was actually reconsidering his suggestion.

“Hm… You won’t slack off when I tell you to do something?” Patrice looked at his youngest son, contemplating. In all honesty, he was reluctant to bring his son mostly because of the similarity between his son and his wife. He has heard nothing innocent coming out from the mouths of his coworkers whenever they speak of his wife (who dresses as a female when he goes out).

“Of course I won’t, dad. I promise!” Adonis replied with absolute determination in his eyes. Well, he really did want to spend some time with his father alone.

“Alright then,” Patrice sighed as he crossed his arms. “But on one condition; never leave my sight and I mean never!”

“Of course, dad!”

That was how Adonis ended up working with his father at the fruit orchard. He had a lot of fun, working side by side with his father and joking around with the others who were working there as well. Because of all the fun that he was having – and how late they usually return – Adonis had momentarily forgotten about the existence of his mother along with the depression of his loved ones’ death.

Eventually, the others considered him as their colleagues as well and he had tagged along with them when they went to the other town to help deliver the produce. It was a rather memorable trip and Adonis didn’t regret following them at all.

… or maybe he did.

---

That night, they had a little party at the inn’s bar to celebrate the ridiculously huge amount of profit they had gained. While the others were drunkenly singing in the background, Adonis turned his head slightly to look at his father, gripping his cup of warmed beer tightly in his hands.

“Dad, who do you like best? Me or mom?”

Shocked was an understatement as Patrice looked at his younger son before he sighed and ruffled his hair, chuckling slightly.

“Silly Adonis, must be the beer talking. Of course I like the both of you best! You’re a wonderful son and your mother is well… well, he’s a wonderful mother to all of you and a wonderful wife to me,” Patrice chuckled before he downed his grin, now joining the others in their celebration while Adonis looked down at his cup, rejected.

---

Time flew by fast as Adonis finds himself supporting his father as he helped him to their room. For someone drunk, his father was surprisingly quiet. Heck, no one would know he was even drunk unless if they notice the light blush on his father’s cheeks and his slightly glazed eyes.

“I told you not to participate, right?” Adonis frowned as he fumbled with the keys to open the room. Once he managed to get the door open, he suddenly found himself thrown onto the bed, his drunken father pinning him. He felt all kinds of emotions running through him and doubts filling his head as his father slowly closed the distance between them. However, all of those melt away when he felt his father’s lips desperately crushing against his.

---

Adonis woke up with a pounding head, thanks to the alcohol that he consumed yesterday (albeit the little amount). Snippets of last night suddenly rushed into his mind and he couldn’t stop himself from blushing as he gripped the sheets closer to him. Does that mean his father did somehow harbor at least some feelings towards him? Feelings that went beyond family love? He hoped so…

“Adonis…”

He jolted at the tone that was used to call him, only then realizing the empty space beside him. Seeking the source of the voice, he found his father looking out the window, his back towards him. He was even clothed.

“I’m sorry about what happen-”

“Dad, I-”

“I want you to forget about the mistake that we did last night!” Patrice cut him off, not able to look at his son for the guilt and shame that he was feeling. After all, all those marks that he left on his son’s perfect skin…

“I-It was low of me… so very low of me. I failed you as a father… I even failed as a husband. How could I-?” he continued, obviously lost in his guilt and shame before he shook his head. “At any rate, I want you to forget about it and never mention any of this to your mother…”

Adonis was stumped. And… and here he was thinking that his father finally reciprocated at least some of his feelings. But… he viewed it as a… mistake?
Heavy-heartedly, Adonis lowered his head in humiliation and despair while trying his best to steel his voice.

“Yes, father…”

---

The rest of the journey back was rather awkward with his father not once talking to him or looking in his direction. Adonis felt like he wants to simply just end his life there more than anything rather than suffer the excruciating pain of being ignored by his father.
As they neared the house, he asked his father for permission to go out for a moment. Despite his obvious hesitation, his father gave him the permission and without wasting another second, Adonis found himself making the familiar track to the Artemis and Danae’s secret graves.

Arriving there, he fell to his knees right in front of their memorials, the tears falling from his eyes freely now. He shed tears of anger, tears of despair, tears of guilt… but most of all, tears of humiliation.

“I should have known… I should have known that it was useless,” he choked out as he held onto their headstones, sobbing his heart out.

“I was soo stupid, to think that-” His crying intensified and somehow, Adonis finds himself curled on the ground in between the two makeshift headstones, hoping that his two beloved people would somehow resurrect right there and then to comfort him.
But he has a feeling that they were comforting him… Because in the midst of his crying, he heard a chorus of voices chanting two words repeatedly until it was burned into his ears and mind.

Kill them.”

---

Adonis had skipped work the next day, convincing his dad that he wasn’t really feeling well and getting the pity from his mother who chided his father for overworking him. Saving himself from hearing to his wife’s lectures, his father let him skip work that day.

“Adonis?” His father was shocked to find him greeting him instead of his mother, which was evident from the way his eyes darted around the house once he was inside.

“Where’s your mother?”

“Oh, mom was feeling a little tired so I offered to do the housework while he rests,” Adonis answered in his usual tone back before the little incident at the inn and Patrice sighed in relief. He had thought it would be almost impossible for his son to recover from what he did.

As his father sat down for dinner, Adonis waited around for a bit to see if he took at least a bite. And he did just that. Giving him a satisfied smile, he announced that he was going to take a bath as his father ate.

---

Once Patrice was done, he made his way up albeit feeling a tad bit drowsy. Hm… Adonis probably went slightly overboard with the spices there. Spices often made him drowsy.
Crawling onto the bed, he snuggled his wife’s sleeping form and smiled.

“Cien…” He murmured as he turned to give him a kiss, only to notice in his shock that it was his son. What was he doing here? Didn’t he went and took a bath? Aside from that, the most important issue was…

“Where’s your mother?” He asked while pulling back and stumbled out of the bed, noting how heavy he was feeling at the moment. Using the wall as his support, Patrice did something that he never dreamt that he would do to his youngest son. He glared at him with all his might.

“You could never be satisfied with just me, could you dad?” Adonis spat out as he sat up on the bad, returning his father’s glare.

“What are you talking about?”

“Can’t you see, dad? I’m in love with you! I’m hopelessly in love with you!” A heavy silence hung over the room; save for his rapid breathing and his father’s labored ones.

Adonis sighed and stood, making his way towards the chair that Patrice only now notices. “I’ve love you for quite sometime now, dad. But why won’t you return my feelings? I look just like mom and sure, I may not be able to please you like him but I could if you’re willing to let me!” He said as he kneeled beside the chair that had something covered with a cloth on it.

“Adonis… listen to yourself. No father in their right mind would replace their wives with their son!!”

“Not even now?!” Adonis said and took the cloth off the thing to reveal a severed head.
The severed head of his wife was on the chair, it’s blank and lifeless eyes staring right into his. It took all of Patrice’s willpower to not vomit at the sight and he felt himself slowly sliding down the wall, unable to support his body anymore.

“W-what have you done? W-what-”

“Simple dad, I’ve eliminated my competition!” Adonis got up and made his way to his father, gripping his chin and smiling almost too sweetly at him that it made Patrice sicker.

He saw – or rather felt his son backhanded him and fell to the floor, immobilized.

“W-what did you do to me?” He forced out as he tried to move his legs, wanting more than anything to get out of the place. Out of his crazy son’s sight...

“Oh, I just gave you a little bit of paralyzing agent. Wouldn’t want you to attack me, do we now dad? After all, you are bigger and most definitely stronger than me,” Adonis replied before he stood up and disappeared into his parents’ bathroom where the sounds of metal being sharpened could be heard.

“You know dad, while I’m at it, I have to tell you something else. You see, Danae never did eloped with Yori nor did Artemis leave town because of work,” at this, the sounds stopped before it continued again.
And all this while, Patrice was trying his best to at least reach the door, though he knew that it was useless since it was impossible for him to run anyway.

“Danae was burnt to ashes because she killed Artemis who in turn, killed Yori,” he continued in a matter-of-factly tone as he exited the bathroom, bringing with him a sharpened axe that made his father’s eyes widen at the sight.

“And yes, I used this to chop mom’s head off,” Adonis kneeled in front of his dad, stroking the axe before he stroked his father’s face lovingly.
“And it’s such a pity that you don’t return my feelings. If you did, none of this would have happened and it’s possible that mom’s still alive…”

Adonis stood up, swinging the axe back and holding the position, a wicked grin gracing his features.
“But let’s look at the future now, shall we?”

A/N: This is a work of pure fiction and has no relation to anyone and if it does, I apologize. Anyways, this is the third part of my story... Again, I'm at lost about what to comment about my writing style and formatting that I haven't commented in the first part, Ark. Make sure to read that too along with Stardust!! Although, there's a link between this and Ark but no link to Stardust except that the characters are related by blood and this tragedy took place months after Ark and Stardust. You can read them by going to my completely empty profile... (^^;)
Sorry for the lame sound-effect at the end. Still experimenting with writing like this...
Oh and this story is roughly based on a song by Sound Horizon titled Yield. Feel free to youtube it because it's awesome!! Oh and don't forget to review!!
