A/N: A quick, angsty one... I promise to post an upbeat poem at least once lol

Enjoy (?).

"Icicle Love"

I love like an icicle.

I cling to the security of the ledge,

And the infatuation drips over me,

Unnoticed at first,

But it keeps solidifying and building up

Until I get so heavy with it that I break off

And plunge through the shock of cold air,

Exhilaration whipping around me.

Once upon a time,

You were there to catch me between your mittens

So that I could happily melt in the warmth of your hand,

But that was before the light shifted

And glinted off something else.

After all these cycles of freezing and falling,

I should know by now

That I’m only destined to shatter.
