“Abortion: Idea, Politics, and a Woman’s Will”

By

Matthew Roe

I don’t want to dwell too long on this topic since it makes absolutely no sense to me and since I am not a woman, I have no right really to inject myself into the debate, but here we go. I will say what I always say, if you do not care for my thoughts on humans, then disregard me and move on with your life. However, if you wish to keep going, here we go.

Abortion is a subject that has been muddled and distorted by both sides of the political board. That is where the problems start. Politics should stay out of women’s wombs. The politicians who preach about “pro-life” in congress and to the public are walking beacons of hypocrisy. How is it when we abort a human child, it’s called an abortion; but when we abort a chicken, it’s simply breakfast. How come people don’t let that chicken be born and let it grow up to be a mature chicken and then it can be slaughtered to be added to our plate anyway? It’s because humans have a self righteous feeling that the human animal is better than all other animals. And if you look at it with a rational reasoning, that’s all we are, self righteous animals.

But then people on the “pro-choice” side of the board have it all mixed up as well. The sides battle forward and backward to determine whether the fetus is a human being, if it can constitute as a life. This is when I can only bring in the logic of George Carlin: “If a fetus is a human being, how come the census doesn’t count them? If a fetus is a human being, how come when there is a miscarriage they don’t have a funeral? If a fetus is a human being, how come people say we have two children and one on the way instead of saying we have three children.”

I cannot say it any better than that. There is no level reasoning behind this argument. But trying to regulate what a woman does with her body is something that is just wrong. Why is it wrong? As if the government hasn’t enough power over you, you want them to stick their hands up a woman’s genitals and say what she can and what she can’t do with her insides.

If you are asking yourself my opinion on this whole abortion issue, I will reiterate that since I am a male, I really have no real power over the situation. I believe a woman has the right to do what she wills with her body and that is it. However, this whole concept on each side of the Marine mentality of “lead, follow, or get out of the way” only fucks women over further. I don’t lead the debate; I do not follow the “leader” on sides of the political spectrum, since it shouldn’t be a political issue, but a biological issue. I do not get out of the way since the worst thing to do is to stand to the side and do nothing, to be an enabler of the carnage in words and actions of all points of view.

But then you have to look the mindsets that these issues and opinions originate. The conservative extremists are fans of being “pro-life” but also they are advocates of stronger military presences in areas of strategic and economic importance around the globe and the death penalty. There have been many reports of conservative (usually Christian) extremists bombing abortion clinics. What kind of “pro-life” is that? It’s such a hypocritical stance. But those who are for abortion take it too far as well. I do seem to see a problem emerging for these little suburban rich white girls getting abortions left and right just because they can’t keep their legs closed and like to be very liberal with their money. They believe and are advocated by politicians that since it is their life, that they can have a record number of abortions just because they can. What kind of bullshit logic is this? You cannot hide behind the jackass of the Democratic Party to hide the fact that the number of abortions under 16 years old have begun to reach record numbers in the last few years. It almost boggles the mind to where they stash all of the dead fetuses? Under Mount Rushmore it seems like.

The very last psychotic problems I have with this whole debate are the terms “pro-life” and “pro-choice” themselves. No matter what you choose, to give birth or to terminate the fetus, it is a choice no matter what you do. So the whole term of pro-choice is a paradox since a choice is made no matter the stance. However, since the right side wanted to distinguish themselves from the abortionists, they came up with the most ridiculous and completely misguided term “pro-life”. As I have stated above, how can you be pro-LIFE if you are advocates of killing convicted felons and war? A good portion of people who are diehard anti-abortionists were in favor of completely destroying Iraq with airstrikes that would have rivaled the Hiroshima massacre. How the fuck is that in favor of LIFE? If someone could enlighten me on this I would be interested how it is defended, because it is a perverted and fucked mindset that believes the butchery of our species can be construed as pro-life.

Before anyone says the most overused term in this debate, George Carlin already beat you in mentioning the flaws with the concept of the “sanctity of life.” He stated in his HBO show “George Carlin: Back in Town”, George said: “The more you listen to this abortion debate, the more you hear the phrase ‘sanctity of life’. Do you believe in it? Personally, I think it is a bunch of shit. I mean, life is sacred? Who said so? God? If you look at history, you can see that god is one of the leading causes of death.”

The religious people always enter the conversation and that’s when things really get fucked over. This is especially true when a religious person is in a place of political power and influence. There is nothing in the Bible, Torah, or in the Qur’an that states abortion is wrong or even important in religious views. However, you can never rely on these books. All you have to know is that all of these books are almost completely alike, and they were created by men at a time when abortion wasn’t really around. Remember, men wrote these books, do you think the mentality to fly the coop and save their own ass has changed that much in the rough two thousand years since the books’ conceptions? But you have to know that during these early days, men were able to kill their children after they reached a certain age, and girls were just left outside to die. Men were also aloud to beat their wives and even kill them in the name of honor (or at least that’s what they said). But I will get onto the subject of religion later.

I end with this overall fact. This issue of abortion should be discussed by women and women only. Guys have done enough damage by knocking women and young girls up in the first place; they have no right to decide what the female does with the child. And if they decide to keep the child, man the fuck up and be a responsible human being. This pussy mentality that men and boys exhibit when they impregnate a female and then jump away is what gives men a bad name. You stuck your dick in her; you should hold true to your intentions and be a fucking man. There is nothing cool or butch about getting a girl pregnant and then running away or enabling an abortion just because you don’t want to be a father. That’s not a man, that’s a bitch.

So, while this abortion debate (wrongly placed) still rages, understand that it will never truly end until it is only women who are the ones who dictate these decisions. Men fucked enough up, we don’t need them messing with the process of childbirth, unless they are people who are available to assist a woman regardless of their choice. This male-fueled patriarchal system that has been in place since the dawn of structure civilization and see the destruction and depravity it has wrong. But more on that later. That is it. Until next time.
