Rating: K and Up

Genre: Romance/Drama

Summary: Compete. Poetry. A poem of heartache.

X

Shall it end?

You’ve hurt me once

You’ve hurt me twice

I can’t let you

Hurt me thrice

Are you worth it?

I’m still not sure

But somehow, someway

This I will endure

I’m truly broken

By what you told me

Please keep me chained to you

I’m afraid to be free

You make me laugh

And my soul light

But if you kill that

We’ll lose the fight

I cry not over men

Yet I will for you

I am attached now

And your love will I rue

I miss your arms

The way you hold me

The way you look at me;

It’s almost envy

Depressed, morose, desolate –

They all mean the same

I’ve felt it all

Since the last time you came

Don’t let me cry

Or believe you felt nothing

I can’t be mistaken

It’s something I’ve seen

My whole body aches

I feel so empty

I feared this would happen

It’s almost uncanny

I need some peace

But my mind is restless

I wish that we could

Share one last kiss

I still wear your ring

And there it shall remain

Until you can tell me

My love was in vain

Promise me one thing

That I won’t be forgotten

That your memory of me

Will never be rotten

You’re worth it all

The joy and the sacrifice

I’ve never regretted it

It was meant to entice

Finis
