Music to My Ears

Music…comes in all forms.
Pop, rock, jazz…and subgenres of those.
And I listen to a little (or a lot) of all of them.

But the sweetest of all songs, to me, is the one playing right now.
The clickity-clack, clickity-clack, over and over the rhythm
of creation. Creation of my words.

My thoughts, for all to see, my muses, lay
bare before you, ripe for the taking.
Clickity-clack, clickity-clack, over and over the rhythm
of anger. Of any emotion.

My fingers are the dancers, my mind, the composer.
And you, my loving audience, await to
pass judgment.

I don’t mind. I’m lost to the motions, the waves
of plots, rhythm, character, allusion, alliteration…
never to nearer come
to Earth.

A dreamer and a dancer to my own rhythm,
clickity-clack, clickity-clack, over and over.

It’s music to my ears.
