I may be walking in the dark

But I am not afraid

Though the trees are like claws

Reaching out to me

.

Though alone physically

Spiritually someone’s with me

G-d’s watching over me and therefore I fear not

.

I look up slowly, eyes pointed Heavenward

The moon shines brightly and behind it lies the Lord

A kindly, familiar face projected on the moon

Hashem protects me, He is my cocoon

.

Walking in the forest

Or swimming in the sea

I always have someone protecting me

As I grow older, I set out in the world,

Parents left behind but still with me is the Lord

.

And if I falter, strong hands catch me

And if I slip, a safety net lies below me

To the ends of adulthood, from the beginnings in the womb

Hashem protects me, He is my cocoon

.

I’m not afraid to fall

I have support through it all

He catches me with His angel’s wings

Their palms carry me over burning coals.

I was never afraid to fall

There’s support for each stumble

I know He carries me to heights just so

No foot trips over stone
