Crying With G-d
Raindrops pound the earth and
Thunder rolls in the hills of the sky;
Lighting illuminates your vision for half a moment
And you know what it’s like when G-d cries.
.
With every raindrop that falls,
The man in the moon has let down a tear
To show that though it’s a long way down,
There’s contact between there and here.
.
With every crash of thunder,
The Being above shouts to be heard so far below,
“Someone’s up here!” He reminds the little people.
And since no one hears, He deals another blow.
.
With every streak of lightning,
Mother Nature sends a call
“Let me shed some short light on the world
And see who notices at all.”
.
Some people feel each cry, and hear each shout,
Some people see each mystery enlightened,
For some people, there are no more doubts.
Some never see that G-d’s in the clouds,
And that He is the face of the rain.
Some people feel each raindrop fall on their eyelash,
And then just brush it away.
And then they wonder why He’s never there.
Don’t make that you.
When the rain clouds have shed their tears,
You should have heard G-d weeping hard.
And then let your own tears fall into the sheets of rain
So that you can experience yourself cry with G-d.
