“Vampires”

Cordelia McLellan

Prologue

It was a usual Friday evening when it happened.

A friend of mine had broken up with his girlfriend a few weeks before and was accompanying me. I had managed to convince him that going out would take his mind off her.

We were in the only rock bar around which had eventually become considered as ‘our local’ in which we would hand out every Friday night and try to get laid. Pretty normal stuff for a Friday, but this time some happened and from that point on my whole world was turned upside down.

In the bar David and I where head banging to the shill tones of the local bands new single which they had released. That’s when it happened. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to see this beautiful woman, with stunning emerald green eyes and silky red hair that could have been created from the fires of hell itself. This woman was different from all the others, maybe it was the way she wore her outfits, they would normally be considered rude and inappropriate but they somehow made her look fantastic. I didn’t know what it was but I felt this strong pull, maybe even a yearning for her.

Man I had to bag this girl, David would never be able to top this one off in reference to how gorgeous she was. We’d probably be sitting in the local every Friday since talking about how I managed to pull the best looking woman ever! I woke up from my daydream like state to find her staring at me. Oh no! I hadn’t been staring at her all this time have I?!

We introduced ourselves to one another and started talking about the band. Every time she started a conversation, I seemed to manage to stop it by saying something really boring or pointless. I’m never going to get this girl, I know it!

There was an awkward silence between us which seemed longer than it was due to my brain trying to scramble some random words into a conversation starter without much avail. I felt her sigh, her breath flowing over my bare shoulders and the rush of goose pimples just told me to go for it.

I offered to buy her a drink which she gratefully accepted. We sat at the bar where things were quieter and started talking about nothing in particular, my eyes barely managing to keep off her smooth, perfect legs. Every movement she made seemed to stun the world around her. Was this love or a mindless obsession with winning over this woman?

My brain was still running around trying to make stupid comments which were still managing to kill the conversation. It started dawning on me that this woman really wasn’t interested in me what so ever, and yet I knew that if I gave up the chase I would regret it.

My brain was ready to throw out another stupid conversation starter when she took hold of my hand and pulled to towards the dance floor. We started dancing as the band continued to play. Gradually she moved closer to me. The world seemed to slow as I felt her warm body against mine as she danced. I started moving in time with her. Our bodies rubbing up against each other in an almost savage, beastly way of seduction. She smiled slyly but it couldn’t resist breaking into a full blown grin. Was she enjoying this too?

In the midst of being captivated by her movements against me, she stopped and turned to me. She moved her head close to mine with her perfect mouth so close to my ear that I could feel every breath. She invited me back to her place. How could I refuse an offer like this? Id be known throughout the world as the guy who went out with the only Angel on earth. Without even thinking I agreed and the next thing I realised was that she had me by the hand and was leading me to the exit.

At her apartment, she showed me into the living room and told me to make myself comfortable. I sat down on the sofa as she left the room. From the next room came her voice offering me a drink. I asked for a coffee and I could hear her getting cups out of the cupboard.

I sat feeling slightly uncomfortable looking around the room. I felt like I was in a time capsule or something, there was pictures everywhere. Instead of wallpaper on parts of the walls, there was just pictures. I stood up to inspect some of the memories that had managed to find their way onto the wall of fame. Most pictures were of people at what looked like a fancy dress party. The heavenly figure of the goddess that I had gone home with was dressed as a vampire and still outshone the other people featured in the pictures. Her costume almost felt like she had just turned up in normal day clothes and yet even then she was stunning.

A soft voice came from behind me asking if I had found a picture that had interested me. I smiled and inquired as to whether she liked vampires. She smiled and nodded as she poured out the coffees. I sat next to her and we talked about vampires. She seemed to know so much about them. In order to know so much, she would have had to of been interested in them greatly. She smiled slightly. The thought occurred in my mind that she didn’t look as stunning as I had previously thought. Maybe it’s the lighting or the drink wearing off.

The conversation grew to a holt and there was an awkward silence again. I sipped my coffee in order to buy some time to think of something to talk about but luckily the silence as broken by her asking me what I did for a living.

I’m a waiter in ‘Maples’ on the high street. How about you?”

She smiled and slowly stirred her coffee. Why would she smile to that? I whole trail of thoughts went through my head in the moment before she replied.

I work in the local surgery. You know the one down Kelvin Lane? I work along side Dr Melodeon. He‘s an amazing man even if he is my ex. We weren’t together for long though. He made me what I am today.”

She smiled again and drank her coffee. I barely noticed her actions while being lost in a trail of thought again. My GP is her ex! Man that wouldn’t half be an interesting conversation the next time I go for a check up.

I was awoken from my thoughts by the sight of this fiery-haired beauty looking at me square in the eyes. I was locked, all hers if she wanted me. Those eyes. She moved in to kiss me. I was captivated by her eyes but now I was lost in the most amazing kiss. Her lips so smooth, her touch so gentle. Then suddenly the rush of goose pimples as she lifted my top off over my shoulders. Still stunned by her touch, I watched her slowly slide her top off. Everything seemed to go into slow motion and my senses were enhanced.

Her hair fell slowly back down into its usual waterfall of beauty that flowed over her shoulders as she pushed me slowly onto my back. She giggled as she undid her bra and dropped it carelessly on the floor. She took hold of my hand and placed it upon one of her warm perfect breasts. With my other hand, I pulled her shoulder towards me. We kissed roughly as I rolled us both off the sofa together onto the floor. I straddled her and ran my hands over her flawless body. I started undoing her skirt when she sat up suddenly and asked to bite my neck.

I grinned cheekily at her and said,

Only if I get to bite yours after.”

She smiled at me as I moved my head to one side. I felt a warm rush of pleasure run through my entire body then sudden cold as I felt her teeth sink in deeper. A minute later she straightened her head and smiled at me. I felt like a ghost. I was cold as ice and all the strength from my body had somehow abandoned me.
