Nothing as Selfish as This

Her eyes are getting droopy,
it’s been 26 hours
since last being conscious.
Her brain is dead,
thoughts immobile.
Eyes sunken in; slightly bruised.
Hungry, from the lack of food.
Eyes are shutting
but she needs to stay awake -
the difference between life and death.
Chilled to the bone -
No blankets.
Words are bow blurry -
no longer making sense.
Voices incoherent,
fuzzy to the ear;
nonexistent to the brain.
Breathing slowing.
Muscles relaxing.
She’s gone.

Just to clear things up, she's not dieing. She fell asleep. It's a hyperbole. ;]
