A girl sat in her shower crying. For the first time in her life she had the urge to cut her self. She had the razor in hand. She had it ready to press down on her skin, and feel the stinging of the blades making a thin line across her arm. She didn't do it. She didn't take the razor across her arm like she so desperately wanted to. Instead she just stood up, but the razor back where she found it, and wiped away her tears. She goes on with her life not letting any one know of her urge to harm herself.
The same girl sits in the shower crying once again. She had a different hurt. Once again she had the razor in hand ready to bring across her arm. This time she doesn't back down. She doesn't just sit there holding it. She doesn't put the razor away. This time she pressed down and brung it slowly across her arm. She could feel the blades cutting her arm. Instead of crying out in pain like she normally would of done, she just stared. Strangely she could feel herself calming down. The emotional pain seem to be lifted away as the physical pain came into play. She liked this feeling.
Now the girl cuts every time her emotional pain becomes to much. She makes sure to try and hide it, but she doesn't wear long sleeves. She doesn't realize that people can notice the cuts, and might ask her what happened. Actually, she does know, but she doesn't care. She doesn't care. She'll just make up a lie.
The girl was outside of her class very upset. One of her classmates came out and talked to her. Thats what they did. They talked. The girl didn't deny the fact that she had cut. That she is the one that made the marks on her arm. She didn't deny it.
“Stephanie this is not cool.” Stephanie's classmate said. They continued to talk. Then they went back in the class. Her classmate told the teacher that she was going to take Stephanie to her counselor. The teacher said OK. They walked to Stephanie's counselor, while also talking. Once they got to her counselor they went up to the sectary, and Stephanie's classmate said that she needed to talk to the counselor. The sectary said that the counselor wasn't in. Since Stephanie seemed very upset the sectary called another counselor. She let the counselor know that there was a student coming in.
Stephanie's classmate walked her to the counselor whom was named Mrs. Bryant. Stephanie sat down in a chair in front of Mrs. Bryant, and started talking. She told her what was going on, and she actually showed Mrs. Bryant the cuts she had made. Mrs. Bryant referred her to the Safe Counselor. Mrs. Bryant also referred her to someone else, but Stephanie can't remember who.
One day Stephanie is very sad and she is talking/yelling with/at her mom. Stephanie takes off her jacket, and shows her mom the cuts on her arm. Her mom wants to know where she has the time. Stephanie didn't answer. Then her mom made her promise not to do it again. Stephanie agrees.
One day while they were waiting to check out at Wal-Marts Stephanie's mom noticed the cuts on her arm, and asked, “Are they healing?”. Stephanie said yes. She didn't tell her mom that she had made new cuts.
The next year Stephanie doesn't cut for a bit. Then one time she did. She cut. Something happened to make her cut. She told her boyfriend that she cut. Her boyfriend made her promise not to do it again. That didn't help. She did again.
Stephanie made a new friend. She told this new friend that she had cut before. He made her promise not to do it again, or he would cut him self worse. One night Stephanie was in the shower. Things were just to much to handle, so she did it. She cut. She showed her friend. Stephanie told her friend that she tried not to. That she tried very hard, but her will power faded. Stephanie's friend said that her will power only faded because she didn't try hard enough. He told Stephanie that he was going to cut himself worse. She tried to stop him, but he was persistent on it. The next day he told her that he WOULD of done it, but he had promised someone that he wouldn't. She was glad for that.
Since then she hasn't cut. Stephanie has kept her promise to her friend. She has not cut since that last time. Stephanie has made sure that she talked to someone when things got to be to much for her to handle. She has kept true to that. She has began to talk to people when things become to much.
A/N: I would like everyone to know that this was not a fiction story like I wanted it to be. Its true. These are all facts. The name of 'Stephanie' is NOT my real name. Anyone with the same name, and almost the same reasons for starting/stopping cutting is completely COUINCIDENTAL. The other name of 'Mrs. Bryant' is a real name. I trusted her. I went to HER when things became to much last year in 9th grade. She left.
R&R! Let me know what you think. I know its not the best story that I have ever written. GIVE ME A BREAK. I tried didn't I? Anyway. R&R. Have a nice night.
