This Apple Tree

So this is where it all started

Underneath this apple tree

This is where the pain, the hurt

The bond of two people formed.

Underneath this very apple tree

A love, so innocent and true

Blossomed and grew.

Time stole it's life away

But it never really disappeared...

Underneath this only apple tree

I saw you and I loved you

Home was no longer just anywhere;

Home was you, my darling

And that's where it will stay

Or...can I only hope and pray

Nothing will take you away?

I know better; life isn't fair

But this one time...

I wish it were on my side

Under the cooling shade of this apple tree....
