The Spider and the Butterfly

I believed in love

Only to find out

It was a lie

I believed in you to

Never break my fragile heart

Only for it to shatter by your hands

You’ve spun a web,

Entranced by art,

Your creation,

I go to take a closer look

I found you, there upon the beautiful web

A majestic creature of black

Sitting right before me

A creature of color

You’ve captured my heart

The moment I saw you

I smiled and go to you

You look at me

And see me with such wonderful eight eyes

I tell you “I love you, I love you, I love you”

Oh, woe as me

Blinded by your lies you’ve spun in my head

Tangling me by your sweet whispers of love

The tangled webs of deceit, love and betrayal tangle me,

A beautiful butterfly upon your web

I see the spider, you, coming towards my frail form

Struggling to break free

You took my heart

You’ve decieved me

You lied

You told me you loved me

Was it all a lie? Only for you to lure me, a beautiful butterfly, to be your prey?

Oh, how foolish of me, to fall in love

With the spider

How foolish indeed

If only I had listened

To the warnings the others have told me

Of you

Now, as I lay here, waiting for you to come and end my exitance

You merely look down at me,

My face inches away from yours

Your lips upon mine

A kiss from you,

A kiss from me

A kiss of death

Together shall we be

Tangled in our web of love

Until the death of us all

You say to me “I love you, I love you, I love you”

The spider had caught the butterfly in his web and with it, her heart

Only for the butterfly’s love to be in vain

The spider and Butterfly fell in love

Only for it to be shattered

By fate…
