Chapter 1

Sphere Mountain high school.

Population: 2,509.

Home of the proud Pandas!

Be careful with that, Ari!”

“Calm down, Kyle. I won't break your toy.”

A tall black haired boy named Kyle said let out an annoyed sigh. “Seriously,” he began snatching the wireless microphone out of her hand. “This costs a whole lot more then you think.”

The girl with the short auburn hair, named Arietta shrugged, “You've told me over and over again. 300 Dollars. Your first half the paycheck gone.” crossing her arms over her chest, her eyes scanned around Kyle's room. “Are you going to clean up anytime soon?”

“I will, I will..” Kyle said putting his microphone on the stand as best as he could. “You know, for a so called artist you're such an obsessive compulsive.”

“I can't help that my mother rubs off on me,” Arietta said sitting down on his bed. “So, are you going to prom with Lucy?”

“I haven't asked yet.”

“You're joking!” Arietta said sounding shocked and standing from the bed. “Cold feet?”

“Something like that,” Kyle replied glancing over his shoulder staring at her with his bright blue eyes. “You're not going to the prom right?”

“Prom and me don't mix,” Arietta said crossing her hands over her chest, averting her brown eyes from his gaze.

“No one asked you, huh?” Kyle's flashed a smirk slightly. “Why not go with Morgan, he's liked you since preschool.”

“Oh, you're real funny.” Arietta rolled her eyes. “If I go, I'll let you know.”

“Good girl,” Kyle said patting her head and stepping back to his singing equipment. “It's almost time for you to go to bed.” he commented adjusting the volume on the microphone.

“Kyle,” she began sending a glare at him. “I'm a Senior this year. My bed time isn't 9:40.”

“Oh, my bad. Sorry Arietta!” He teased with a sly smile. “I keep forgetting you're only three months younger then me.”

“Two in a half,” Arietta said lifting up a finger to his face. “And call me Ari, it sounds weird when you call me by my full name.”

“Fine, fine.” Kyle said turning around to her.

The two of them lived next door to each other as long as they could remember. Arietta had been friends with him since preschool, meaning the two had been though a lot together.

“Why not ask whats his name...” Kyle began to think for a moment, before snapping his fingers. “Henry whats-his-face...” he joked around.

“Oh gross...” Arietta said with a shiver. “That guy gives me the creeps, Kyle. And plus the rumors spread about him isn't very good.”

Raising an eye brow, “You believe rumors over truth?” he asked giving her this look. The look of 'death,' in her eyes.

“There is truth in the rumors,” Arietta said flinching slightly. “I wasn't going to tell you but...”

“But what?” he asked raising an eye brow.

“I think he's actually stalking me.” Arietta said confident.

“Seriously?” he asked blinking slightly. “This coming from the girl who thought she had the bird flu back in eighth grade?”

“I'm not a Hypochondriac!” She defended herself doing shifty eyes. “The other day when I was getting out of gym. He stared me down.”

“Maybe he's to shy to talk to you?” Kyle asked tilting his head, before taking out his cellphone. “Listen,” he began lifting up the neon red phone. “If you're in trouble ever, One ring warning. Alright?”

“Thanks,” Arietta said standing from the bed. “You know what, I'm going to go to bed now.” she began to the window. Popping open the locks to it, she glanced over her shoulder and smiled slightly. “One ring warning, right?”

“If you ever need me,” Kyle nodded his head. “I'll rush on right to my best friend. I promise.”

“Thank you...” she said turning her head from him. “Good night, Kyle.”

“Night, Arietta.” Kyle said turning and dodging the small rock she threw at him from outside the window.

“Seriously! Don't call me that!” Her cheeks were burning from a blush of embarrassment.

“Was just teasing, good night!” He said closing his window as soon as she got into her bed room.

Hey everyone. Hope this was alright. I'm sick at the moment, and had a dream last night. So, basically. I had woken up at 6:00 AM and wrote this down instantly. REVIEW KINDLY!
