I wish you could see what you do to me
When you look my way
I tremble with delight
As the slightest bit of hope sparks within me

I wish you could see how I try
To make you see me as more than just a friends
But then I ask myself ‘Why?’
When you just sigh at my futile attempts

I wish you could see the tears
That shed from my eyes when you look away
Right after you speak of her to me

But what I wish the most is that you could see the real me
The one that’s always been there

But you COULDN’T see all these things
For you are blinded by a love greater than I would have expected
A love I wish was towards me…
