Only In My Dreams
Chapter 1
“Chase over here,” one of her girl friends called, “it’s about time you got here.”
“Sorry, Marie” Chase said, “I didn’t mean to be late, but I couldn’t find my other shoe.”
“Jeez,” Christy said, another one of her friends, “it takes you longer to find your shoes than it does to get dressed. Why don’t you just find a spot and put your shoes there so you know where they’ll be?”
“Um, to much trouble,” Chase said, “it’s easier to just throw them where ever.”
“Well we’ll leave it to you to be the lazy one,” Marie, “can we go now?”
“Sure,” Chase said, walking after her friends.
“Oh look their already here,” Marie pointed out.
“I see them,” Christy said.
Christy and Marie walked on ahead, to greet the guys, as expected the two hot ones were already taken. The guy that was standing there watching was more than likely the guy they were trying to fix her up with.
Chase walked over, to say hi, when someone pinched her ass, she whirled around, “what the hell.” She saw a guy that made her stomach curl, why was it that she only got hit on by ugly guys? ‘This is so getting old,’ she thought to her self.
“Got a problem?” the guy asked.
“Yeah, keep you slimy paws to your self,” she said angrily.
“And if I don’t,” the guy asked.
“Just keep you hands off things that don’t belong to you,” she said turning to walk away. She walked over to where her girl friends were standing, “this is so getting old.”
“What happened this time,” Marie asked.
“Ah some jerk grabbed my ass again,” Chase said.
“Are you complaining cause it was a creepy guy that grabbed your ass, or because the guy wasn’t hot?”
“Both,” Chase said.
Both Marie and Christy started laughing; Chase didn’t look amused at all. She just stood there and scowled. “Some friends you are,” she said, trying to be angry.
“Chase let us introduce you to Robert, your game partner for the evening,” Marie said.
“Hi,” he said, “nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too,” she said, “well I’m going to play PAC MAN; you’re welcome to tag along if you like.”
“Sure,” he said, following her to where the older games were, “so you like the older games, huh?”
“Yup,” she said, “I prefer the older games, their so much more fun to play.”
“Yeah they are,” he replied. The two of them spent the majority of their time playing PAC MAN and Mrs. PAC MAN. They played the occasional round of Space Invaders and Frogger. They laughed a lot, seemed to maybe have bonded, but really they hadn’t talked about anything, the only thing they knew about each other was that they liked the older video games.
At the end of the evening, they met at the entrance like they had planned. They decided to get something to eat, so they went to the little café next door. After about a half hour, Chase was bored, and she wanted to leave. “I have to get going guys,” she said, “still have home work to do.”
“OK,” they said, “Robert you should walk her home.”
“That’s OK,” Chase said, “I can make my own way home, thanks.”
“No really,” Marie said, “you should walk her home, you have no idea how much trouble finds her.”
“Apparently I’m a trouble magnet,” Chase said, “well if your going to walk me home, then lets go.”
They walked in silence most of the way, she just kept pointing in the direction that they would go. They walked to a rather big house; it was white, with light blue trimming, “this is me,” she said, “thanks for walking me home.”
She went to put in the code for the gate, when he pulled her into him, “not so fast,” he said, “they promised me I’d have a good time.”
“Wait what,” she said looking befuddled, “I’m not that kind of girl.”
“I don’t care,” he said, forcing her into a kiss.
She pushed and clawed at him, but she couldn’t get free. He released her lips for a moment to get air, “please let me go,” she pleaded, before he planted another one on her.
A hand came out of nowhere and ripped the two of them apart, and then all of a sudden Robert was dangling in the air. After being dropped, he scurried to his feet and ran off.
Chase leaned up against the gate gasping for breath, she was so going to call them and give them a piece of her mind.
A figure stepped out of the shadows, “are you ok?” he had a guys voice, he looked to be her age, and he was gorgeous.
“Yes, thanks to you,” she said, “what’s your name?”
“Alex,” he said, “what’s yours?”
“I’m Chase,” she said, “I guess you could say someone is always chasing me.”
He laughed, and then as suddenly as he appeared he disappeared.
“How odd,” she said out loud, “I hope I get to see him again.”
She went to the gate and put in the code to unlock it, and walked into the house. She went over to the answering machine, no messages. She saw a not next to the machine, “dear Chase, Your father and I had to go out, we’ll be back late, don’t wait up for us.”
Great, just great, ‘looks like I’m all alone, again.’
Once she got up to her room, she picked up the phone and called, Marie, “hey you home yet? Guess not well when you get this, next time you go to fix me up with someone do a back round check. That idiot you tried to fix me up, tried to force him self on me!! Well catch ya later.” She couldn’t help but laugh to her self, she really was in some sort of weird way, and trouble magnet; go figure.
