My very first oneshot!!! Hope you like it~ It's kinda an emotional story...

Sanctitia Singularis

This is a story of a girl who was always ignored, well, almost always. There was this one boy...but I'm rushing forward, let's start with the beginning, shall we? It all started when the girl was noticed. Let's start there, yes, that's a good place to start. It was on a clear, sunny day, the sun gently warmed the earth while blessing it with it's beauty...

The whole class was chattering. It was a nice and warm day, so the teacher gave up on trying to get information into the (nonexistent) brains of the students. Just one girl was quietly sitting by herself, drawing.

She was a beauty with her flawless, porcelain-like skin, jet-black long hair that fell alongside of her face and her surprisingly big, silver eyes, her beauty reminded of a porcelain doll. She was petite and, even though she was a beauty amongst beauty, no one noticed her. She was content with that. She had accepted her fate a long time ago. But that doesn't mean it was easy.

The girl was drawing a portrait. Her hands moved fast and all her concentration was focused on the drawing. Suddenly her hand slipped and she drew a line that wasn't supposed to be there. She reached out to grab her eraser, but she accidentally knocked it off of the table.

The girl crawled on the ground, to find her eraser. Sadly enough, because she was hard to notice, a guy stepped on her hand. A loud yelp escaped her and tears steamed down her face. The pain seemed to worsen when she realised the guy probably wouldn't even notice he stepped on her hand.

Suddenly something completely normal, yet unexpected happened. A boy, probably a friend of the one who stepped on her hand, crouched beside the girl and took her hand. Her looked at it and smiled at the girl.

“It's a little swollen, it may be better to wash it with cold water.”

The girl hesitated, feeling intense happiness because she was noticed, she didn't want to leave! The boy smiled at the girl.

“Don't worry, I'll come with you!”

The girl smiled for the first time and the boy admired the picturesque beauty of the girl and her smile. The two went to the water fountain in the hallway. The boy grabbed the girl's hand and held it in the cold water. The girl winced, but she couldn't leave even she wanted to, because the boy had a tight grip on her hand. The pain faded and the girl relaxed. Suddenly the boy spoke, shattering the beautiful silence.

“I never saw you before, are you new in school?”

The girl sighed 'of course he doesn't know who I am, the teacher doesn't even know!'

“My name is Roselia, Roselia Mortus and I'm not new in school, I've been here since kindergarten!”

The boy's eyes widen and he stares at the beautiful girl. The boy then grinned and reached out his hand.

“I'm sorry I never noticed you, would you still like to be my friend?”

The girl blinked and she felt her heart jump. 'A friend! My first friend! The first person to notice me!' She smiled and nodded, she took his hand and he pulled her towards himself. He wrapped his hands around her in an embrace. The girl blushed. She felt his breath in her neck and that made her blush even more. She was so distracted that she almost didn't hear what he whispered:

“I really like your name, Roselia, my name's Aaron.”

He then pulled away. The girl was still shaken, but she didn't mind. She liked the close warmth of his body and she felt kinda sad when he pulled away.

Let me tell you this; this meeting was destined. Their meeting brought something in motion that had been stopped a long time ago, but the motioning of that something would bring a sacrifice with it... But I'm rushing forward again. The two became very good friends and they would not separate. Aaron and Roselia became inseparable.. Everyday was bliss for Roselia. But there is no such thing as eternal bliss...

Roselia walked to school, a cheerful jump in her steps made her look energetic. 'Today is the day!' She thought 'Today's the day I'm gonna tell him about it!' She noticed the figure of the one she was searching for. She ran to him, hugging him from behind and hiding her face in his shirt. He was the only one she would touch like this. Aaron looked at her with a huge grin on his face.

“Yo, Rose!”

Roselia blushed, he was the only one that called her Rose and she liked it. She smiled back.

“Hey Aaron! What's up?”

Aaron's grin turns into a pleading pout and he takes Roselia's hand while staring into her eyes.

“Can I copy your homework? Please~?”

Roselia laughed, a gentle sound, rivaling the song sang by birds on a spring morning.

“Okay,only because it's you!”

Roselia grabbed her homework out of her bag and handed it to Aaron. Aaron's grin reached dangerous lengths and Roselia giggled at his expression.

“You're a lifesaver, Roselia!”

Roselia smiled amiably.

“You're welcome.”

The two friends entered the classroom and sat in their own seats. Aaron, so he could quickly copy Roselia's homework and Roselia, to draw a bit more before the class started.

The day quickly went by and Roselia and Aaron walked together out of the school. Aaron jumped up and down, being happy that school was over for the day.

“Hey Rose, let's go on a date!”

“Eh?!”

Roselia turned bright red and Aaron looked like he would eat her up if she came to look even more cute. He grabbed her hand and dragged her with him. After awhile, they reached the park. Roselia walked in front of Aaron and admired the beauty of nature while Aaron admired her elegance.

“Uhmm, Rose?”

Roselia turned around, her long, black hair dancing around her, catching the light. She looked even more like a beautiful doll than she already did. Aaron took out a little box. It was clearly from a jewelery store. It was a little red box in the shape of a rose. Roselia blushed, not knowing what to do.

“Happy birthday, Roselia.”

Roselia cried silent tears of joy as she opened the little box, revealing a a beautiful necklace. It was a crystal wrapped with chains with the image of a rose and a sword in it. Aaron took it and put it on Roselia. He smiled as he began to tell about the necklace.

“It's called 'The Crystal of Life', legend says that this crystal will fulfill one wish for the owner, for a price. And only if the owner really, really wishes for it from the bottom of thier hearts.”

Roselia looked up to Aaron with tears like diamonds in her eyes. She wrapped her arms around him in an embrace.

“Thank you! I won't need the wish, you noticed me!”

Aaron smiled as he buried his face in her soft hair and inhaled her scent. This happiness was filling his whole being. Suddenly Roselia pulled back and looked Aaron in the face.

“How did you know?”

Aaron understood the question and grinned.

“I sneaked into the archive and looked into the file with birthdays. Easy enough to find you, since the names were sorted on alphabet.”

Roselia smiled. She buried her head in his chest, feeling secured, feeling safe. She looked up to him and smiled, a light blush adorning her cheeks.

“When is your birthday, Aaron?”

Aaron smiled. He was captivated by her beauty.

“Weirdly enough, tomorrow.”

“Then I need to quickly buy you a present too!”

Aaron protested, saying he didn't need anything, but Roselia insisted. Aaron obliged and the two walked further into the park, taking in it's mysterious beauty.

Luck and coincidence work in mysterious ways. If one could go back in time and would even agitate a single butterfly, a whole war could be avoided or begin. Something one would never expect could occur just because a single detail changed it all. A detail, like a miscalculation by an assassin, resulting into a bullet flying into the park could change it all. Luck and coincidence work in mysterious ways indeed.

Roselia and Aaron reached the middle of the park, where a beautiful fountain was standing. Roselia and Aaron were staring at the water dancing in the air while creating beautiful colours.

“Too bad they didn't place a statue or something like that in it, isn't it?”

Roselia glanced at Aaron, he was smiling dreamily, and nodded. Suddenly Roselia got an idea and she ran into the fountain, until she reached the middle. She turned around, drenched but smiling wide. She spread her arms and laughed at the stunned Aaron.

“How does it look? A statue in the middle of the fountain?”

She was standing still, without moving an inch. Aaron was mesmerized by the hypnotising beauty of it all.

“Beautiful!”

Suddenly the two friends heard a gunshot and seconds later, Aaron fell to the ground, shot in the chest. The water in the fountain coloured crimson and Roselia ran to Aaron, catching him before he hit the ground. She collapsed on the ground and cried. She cried, not only because she knew he was dead, she cried because he took a part of her with him. The light reflected on the necklace she got from Aaron and Roselia knew what to do. The Crystal of Life grants the owner one wish, with a price. Roselia grabbed the Crystal with two hands and closed her eyes. Tears streamed down her face as she whispered the words to save the one she cared most for. Aaron was her whole world and he'll always be Roselia's whole world.

Please save Aaron's life, in exchange, take mine.”

Roselia stood up and walked into the fountain. She turned to where Aaron was lying and spread her arms as if she was inviting someone for an streamed down her face as she felt her body stiffen. She smiled. She was saving her first love...

Aaron opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was a statue. The second thing he saw was that it was night. He checked his watch and saw that it was one minute after midnight. Aaron looked back up and looked at the statue. Long hair, big eyes, flawless skin, petite build and a sad yet sincere smile and a necklace. Aaron recognized the person and fell to his knees. He saw the sign lying at her feet. It read: “Happy Birthday.

Destiny is a mysterious thing indeed. Aaron was devastated when he fully comprehended the situation. No-one else missed Roselia, it was as if she never existed, only the statue was proof of her existence. Aaron walked by it everyday, even after five years. It was five years after Roselia's wish and Aaron was walking by it like everyday...

Aaron stared at the haunting beauty of the nature around him. Everything, every leaf, every stone reminded him of her. He turned a corner and stood in front of the statue. The water was dancing around it, creating many colours. It was magical. Aaron stopped. There was someone else. A little girl, five years old if he had to guess, she had long, black hair and she was looking at the statue with her back to him. He took a step and a twig snapped and the girl spun around, her long, black hair dancing around her. Aaron had a strong feeling of recognition and when the girl turned around... He saw two big, silver eyes, porcelain skin and a petite doll-like appearance. The girl smiled gently, knowingly.

“Hello, my name's Rose, what's yours?”
