I get lost in moments like the one we met.
I caught your eye
Like the lone red rose that I guess I was,
In a field of dead, gray petals.

What color do a rose's cheeks turn when she blushes?
You should know,
You've seen it on me whenever I've seen you smile.
The moments when I smelled your skin
Just before I fall asleep in your arms.

I get lost in moments like yesterday,
When the light hit your green eyes
And changed the colors so they matched my thorns.

Then there's moments like today
That I won't remember tomorrow
But you're in them
In some way or another,
So they're worth not wilting for.
