Show Your Love First

I walk down the hallway alone

No one talks to me

Cared enough to say hello

To ask how I am doing

My friends walk past me

To busy in their own day

To ask how mine is going

“My child, why are you not

saying hello to your friends?”

“Because God I am tired!

Tired of being the one

to say hello first!

I'm sick of no one asking me

How my day went!”

“My beloved, did it not ever occur to you

that they feel the same way?”

“But Lord!”

“That I fell the same way?”

“Lord?”

“Show your friends your love first.

Just like I showed you mine.”
