Written in memory of my dad, who passed away 2005

I was there, and I remember

.x.

Like the pages of an old history book fade with age

So shall your life fade

With time

No one will remember your name

.

x

.

Your face will not hang forever young

Among the old masterpieces at the museum

With time

No one will remember your face

.

x

.

The melody of your laugh will never sound again

Like the old symphonies

With time

No one will remember your voice

.

x

.

Your thoughts and your dreams were never recorded

And studied like the great philosophers of old

With time

No one will know you existed

.

x

.

But I was there, and I remember.
