Body Countless

Trim lines down the outline of your body.
Sheets of satin skin wrap around your thinning bones.

The curve of your back falls down into a sharp edge.
Lips bow into a perfect o that kisses the air.

Eyelids part between the spaces of forever that flash when your lashes flutter.
Long beads of your hair twine into little circles of fun near the back of your ears.

Shoulders shift into place beneath the filter of naked light.
Your chest rises in sync with the cigarette smoke in your eyes.

Each hip bone slices across the surface of muscle and scars.
The plane of your thigh shatters in simultaneous whistles of glass.

Calves tighten and become sheathed in slippery pearls of sweat.
As your feet arch in the form of an exotic bird folding its wings.

I pulsate at the sight of your body that’s living.
Not surviving.
