Chapter 3

(After School)

“Jake are you here I came just like you asked?” Ryan called as he came around the building.

“Here I am Ryan I didn’t think you were going to show there for a while I bought you these open it up tell me if you like it so I can take it back if you don’t to exchange it for something you do.” Jake said from the trees surrounding their campus.

(Ryan opens the box and is amazed to just find a set of keys in it.)

“This sure is a big box for just a set of keys what are they for?” Ryan asked holding them up so Jake would understand his confusion a little better.

“The key is to my apartment this way if you ever need somewhere to crash or just get away I’m always open to you.” Jake said giving Ryan another note.

I also wanted to tell you how much I truly care about you.

I have had beautiful dreams about us since I met you I believe I am falling in love with you my precious Ryan.

I now give you my heart in hopes you will except if you don’t I will surely perish by a very painful broken heart.

“Wow, Jake that was beautiful, and yes I will except though I don’t understand why did you chose me with all the people that are like you why me?” Ryan asked with tears in his eyes.

“Why you what do you mean I love you why else would I chose you; you have personality, smarts, bravery, and your shy.” “I love those things about you. Plus without you I would be totally lost, and alone.” Jake said wanting nothing more than to hold Ryan tight but to not scare him just whipped his tears away.

“Really can believe that you love me but we both have had the same dreams too?” Ryan said totally believing Jake.

“You’ve had them too, I mean that was my clue it just clicked after that it’s like we were ment to be or something….” Jake said smiling at Ryan who had stopped crying when he had started talking more.

“Ryan have you ever had another lover you seem like a child caught in a trap and you can’t get out or something?” Jake asked but regretted it because Ryan immediately got sad.

“Well I have but I don’t like to talk about it what he did just really hurt me it’s not right to say you love someone then do things that you know will make them cry.” Ryan answered.

“You can tell me I mean you should tell me if we are going to be lovers we shouldn’t keep anything from one another.” Jake said trying to convince Ryan it was okay to talk to him about it.

“I’ll tell you about mine first then you can talk how about that?” Jake asked.

“Okay I guess that will work it’s like a pure your heart out game right?” Ryan asked with one last tear rolling down his chin.

“Yeah, well I’ve only been with one other guy and he was not so good to me, he was an alcoholic, druggie, and he beat me sometimes.” “I loved him though because he was my father he protected me, kept a roof over my head, and fed me when I was hungry.” “When one of my teachers found out they told the cops what was going on DHR came and took me away from him saying what he had done to me was wrong.” “I told them it was my choice and he wasn’t doing anything I said no to.” “I was in foster care til I was old enough to leave, so I moved here to finish high school to better myself in the world.” Jake said looking at Ryan as he finished his story of how he had gotten where he was now.

“Then how do you have the money for an apartment and a Lamborghini I mean that’s a really expensive car?” Ryan asked.

“Well when my dad lost me he tried to straighten up to get me back, but he ended up dyeing in an accident on his way to work.” “All the money he ever had was left to me including his car.” “He worked years to pay for.” Jake said telling the whole truth.

“Wow, and I thought my story was sad, my only other boyfriend was three years older than me.” “My parents introduced us at a conference I went with them to, he had money they wanted it.” “We dated for three months then he told me that if I didn’t start putting out he was done with me.” “I told him I wouldn’t because I was saving myself for my one special someone.” “He called a friend and they fucked right in front of me.” “He completely ignored me until they were finished.” “Then he told me we were over, and the other guy laughed as I cried when I ran out.” “I haven’t loved another soul until now with you I was too afraid of getting hurt again.” Ryan said happy that he final had the story off his chest.

“Well know wonder we are together to hurt souls that were destined to meet because of their wounded hearts.” Jake said holding Ryan’s hand.

“That is if you will have me.” Jake said looking Ryan in the eyes with his green embers.

“Of course I will take you, you are my true love after all right?” Ryan said smiling back his blue sapphires shining back.

“Great I want to go on a date with you this Friday there is a great movie playing and we can have dinner after if you like.” Jake said grinning now unlike he had been before.

“Sounds good I love movies and dinner is fine before or after.” Ryan answered.

(Green embers meet blue sapphires as the boys came together for their very first kiss.)
