*throws confetti*
My first story on Fictionpress! Weee...
It sucks because this story falls into multiple categories and you can only choose two main ones. *cries*
It will have lots of weird magical things, and a dash of funny romance.
I hope you will enjoy it.
Ps. My grammer sucks and I borrowed Diana Wynne Jones's way of writing titles for chapters, as seen in Howls Moving Castle.

Plum for Dessert

Chapter One: In Which Plum Finds A Body

“Why, oh why, is this happening to me?” Plum stared down in horror.

A bloody, motionless body lay at her feet. He was sprawled, faced down, among broken ale barrels.

Gee, if I was a proper lady, I’d already fainted, she thought.

But by the good grace of fate and Plum’s exceptional history with violence, she managed to bare the sight a few minutes longer and caught the rising and falling of the man’s chest.

Oh, he’s still breathing.

“Help!” Plum shouted. Heads poked out from the second story windows from across the street and a few stop to stare. Really, these nosey people. They look so concern but don’t even offer to help.

“Get the police! Someone is hurt! “She hollered again, this time wildly waving her arms to get attention.

The night was young. People were still roaming the street, going from bar to bar, to diners and whore houses, and back to the bars. Plum managed to grab a young fellow by his collar but he roughly shoved her to the side and escaped.

“What? Am I purposely being ignored here?” Plum questioned. Well, she WAS standing in the Red Light district, and how she ended up there… well… that will come later.

Feeling that no one wanted to be involved with a possibly dying body, which most likely was related to a gang fight, Plum pushed away any fear of catching a nasty disease, and crouched next to the body. She rolled him over and started to wipe his blooded face with her handkerchief. She thought it was a bit strange that there were no open wounds on his head as the blood cleared off.

Oh well, Plum shrugged. It must have been the other guy‘s blood.

Plum hovered closer to examine him but the man’s left eye started to twitch and he let out an annoyed groan. Surprised, she let his head drop against the ground with a loud thud.

Whoops. The man slumped back into a heap limp.

Plum sighed and studied the man. He was definitely handsome. Even though it was night, and his clothes were soaked with what seem to be ale from the broken barrels, she could tell that he was richly dressed. His dark colored hair fell slightly above his eyes, and with high cheek bones and sharp angled eyebrows, his face was menacing, even while he was unconscious.

“Rich, lovely, and no wounds. Weird.” Plum murmured and began to search for identification.

It was not long until she found his wallet, in the upper inner-right pocket of his coat, which was even stranger, not because it was made of fine black leather with gold trimmings but because it was still fat with money.

Don’t gangs usually take your money after they beat you to a pulp? Plum looked at the man again.

Gah, who just have this much money lying in their wallets anyway? I could buy a year’s worth of Baker Don’s Choco Cakes with this, wait I could even buy Baker Don himself! Plum thought.

She shook the ridiculous thought from her mind and continued looking through the wallet, and found a single card. Plum took in large breath and exhaled.

Summoning all her strength, she pulled the man onto her back, and walked towards the address that was scribbled on the card.

I hope this was the right choice. Plum thought.

Yes, yes, I'd love to hear from you. Tell me what you think!
