Walking through the forest,
We are lead by the stars.
Walking north, northwest,
Our freedom seems farther than Mars.
Looking for houses that have the signs,
Of our secret path to liberty.
We've nearly been caught several times,
But in this dark tunnel the light we can see.
The loving souls along this underground trail,
Risk their own freedom so we can have ours.
Their comfort and kindness never fail,
To make us welcome during our shared hours.
We have made it to our journey's end,
Now we and our children never again will be sold.
And we thank every single friend,
On our underground railroad.
