Empty Eyes

I'll take off my face and she'll rest there in place
She'll choke on Jesus as her weak body dies
I look in the mirror and pretend to hear her
I smile at myself and greet empty eyes

She praises her daughter, I get her some water
She brushes her hair and the idiot cries
I console the piggy and she shudders sickly
I sing tunelessly and blink empty eyes

A paisley dress rustles and her withered legs shuffle
I drink some more beer and I pay off the Whore
"Isn't your mother your only true lover?"
There are old photographs and a gun in my drawer
