It’s 2:23 (in the morning)

And I’m desperate to know if (wherever you are)

You’re thinking of me

It’s 2:24

And now I find myself desperately wanting

Almost needing more

Another minute goes by (so it’s 2:25)

And I’m wishing (desperately, hopelessly)

You were by my side

2:26 comes and goes

(Where it stops nobody knows)

But wait, it stops at 2:27...

...which leads to 2:28

Now I’m noticing it’s much too late

To be thinking of your face

So as 2:29 passes by

I turn out the light (reluctantly)

And breathe a sigh

It’s 2:30 here (yes, in the morning)

And I find myself wondering what time it is

Wherever you are, dear

Consciousness fades by 2:31

And my mouth curves into a smile

Because I’m finding that my dreams of you

Have just begun
