I wish that we all could drop our guns,

And that "heretics" would make peace with nuns.

I wish that the flame of hate would just go out,

So we all can go about

With our lives and be carefree,

For ourselves and our posterity.

I wish that the church would leave scientists alone,

As they fiddle around with bone.

I wish that human nature wasn't such a pain,

As a homeless man dies in the rain.

I wish that people would care,

Instead of pretending they're the only one there.

I wish that all of my goals and dreams will come true,

As I sit here and write this little tune.
