A+ A- |
Melody pours out of the ivory keys.
Chords upon chords joining in harmonious song.
Graceful fingers pressing slightly onto the smooth white surfaces,
Occasionally drifting up to a black one.
But hark, an intruder.
He saunters over to the seated areas across from my beautiful piano.
He sits himself down with a half smile on his face.
My melody stops flowing.
His voice,
In it's strong and controlled fashion,
States into the silent room,
"I've never considered myself a quitter but.. I've given up on you."
When he leaves,
A different song is chosen.
Those graceful fingers fit themselves into their proper place,
And press.
Chords,
Once again,
Follow one another in song.
And now,
We add the voice.
It starts out strong.
Controlled,
Just like his.
Just like how he taught her to be.
The chorus is coming up and you can tell the voice is dwindling.
She goes for it anyway.
Only one chord in,
Before the melody stops.
Her voice breaks.
Harmony made with stagnant silence.
The sound of tears hitting piano keys.
