A poem I wrote when I was feeling depressed. Its a lot like some of my other stuff, leading me to realize that I do in fact write a lot of emo poetry.

To you who see
---------------------------------
I ask of you, who look at me,
Can you see into the soul,
Just what is it that you see?
Is it the face, or the barriers of control.
---------------------------------
Is what you see who I am?
The stereotype you want to find?
Or do I go deeper,
the many layers of the mind.
---------------------------------
I cannot be myself with you,
I have to wear a different mask.
Dredging deep within my heart and soul,
to cover up, as conformity asks.
---------------------------------
Just leave me alone, all by myself.
Let me find time to take off the mask.
Allow me to be who I am,
before time makes me who I pretend.
