A/N} I wrote this for English. it's an "I Remember" poem.

What Do I Remember?

Within the shattered walls of life
I remember all my strife.

The pain of being all alone
The sadness of making all your own.

Gone was she, my mother dear
Physically not, but mentally far away from here

Alcohol appeard and stole her away
Rare to see her for more then a day.

My brother watched, tears in his eyes
As our mother destroyed both our lives.

Sobriety came and lifted the weight
At times I still couldn't help but hate.

Times I cried for days on end
Only to start anew again.

Soon I found the pain would leave
That I remember, because I believe.
