Big, Giant Cat

As I have recently had issues with people stealing my stories and selling them as their own, I feel I have to put an explicit copyright warning on my stories. Be advised that I have properly documented and protected my copyright of these characters and situations and have enlisted a lawyer to protect them. Any violation of my copyright will result in legal action, beginning with, but not limited to, a cease and desist order. If that fails, further and harsher legal actions will be aggressively pursued to the full extent of the law.

Author's Notes: This is the final entry into what I've called the "Riley" trilogy (aka songs and short stories inspired by my cat, Riley. It's a song/story I began singing to him one day as he once again frolicked on my bed while I tried to sleep. Good thing I love the little guy because I was ready to kill him at times. This can be spoken or sung to a simple, kind of funky beat in four/four time (imagine a funky bass line with this one). I wanted to format this a little differently, having the middle lines of "I'm a big giant cat" after every four line stanza have an extra space between them or something, but by god this website erases every space I put in, whether it's through their word interface or the actual HTML code. Attention, webmasters, sometimes a space between lines is an actual writing technique! You know... writing? What this site is all about?

Well I’m a big, giant cat ,

and I know where it’s at.

I have a long tail,

And I don’t wear a hat.

I’m a big, giant cat...

Well I’m a big, giant cat.

Treat me like a king.

When I wake up in the morning,

That’s when I sing, oh yeah.

I’m a big, giant cat...

Well, I’m a big, giant cat.

I have grace and poise.

When you want to sleep,

That’s when I make noise. You dig?

Well, I’m a big, giant cat...

Well I’m a big, giant cat,

And I chase mice.

I’ll eat chicken and cheese,

But I won’t eat rice.

I’m a frickin’ HUGE cat...

Well I’m a big, giant cat,

And you’re my mark.

Don’t turn on the lights.

I can see in the dark.

I’m a big, giant cat...

Well I’m a big, giant cat.

I don’t need a raise.

I sleep in the sun.

That’s how I spend my days.

I’m a big, giant cat...

Well I’m a big, giant cat,

And I sleep on the log.

Don’t ask me to fetch,

Cause I ain’t the dog...

I’m a big, giant cat.

Well, I’m a big, giant cat,

And I love food.

If you ask me,

I’m one heck of a dude.

I’m a big, giant cat...

Well I’m a big, giant cat,

But I’m really kind of small.

I may be little,

But I feel 10 feet tall!

I’m a big, giant cat.

I’m a big, giant cat.

I’m a big, giant cat.

Meowwwwwwwwwwwwwww
