my thoughts are stuck on a carousel
everything blurs as it goes past
except for you.

it seems as i go however miles per hour,
everything slows down when i come to you
did you plan this?

soon enough you were right there next to me
singing along to the songs of this fair
i tried being mad, and i tried looking away
i was compelled to smile and sing along

spinning, my body slowed, i had become this bounding ride
dancing to the melody you sang to me
to think i didn't want to be here

eyes opened, spinning stopped
you nowhere in my sight
dreaming, dancing, singing, spinning,
the fun makes me think of you
enough to convince me you're here.
