Dusk in Her Place
I married the
sunset
when I realized
that the half-carved sun
would dip into
my outstretched hands.
I kissed the rain
goodnight
as it fell
sleepily into evening
and told it the story of my life
as a fairytale.
I gave birth to the
moon
called it a lonely child
and I placed the stars
beside it
so it would be taken care of.
I let my feet sink into the
still earth of reality
and I wondered
what it was like
