Alana ran through memories from all her past lives. She couldn't remember anything that would specifically make Luke target her.

At best, she got the glint of a gold ring, some noises, and the feel of warm sunlight on her cheeks.

Or the lick of heat from flames.

A surge of pain swept through her mind as she suddenly remembered everything. The gold of her wedding ring was what glinting. Glinting in the fire that was burning Luke. Who she had loved at one point.

But had he been born back into this century twisted? Had the pain literally messed up his mind? A rush of feelings washed over her. She hated him, he had killed her mother, burnt her home, was going to burn her old hometown.

But back then she had loved him.

Her contradicting emotions battled and fought for dominance.

Until they finally settled. But what was the outcome?

Did she hate him?

Did she love him?

She wouldn't know until she saw him face to face.

A/N: Dang. It's so short again. And the romance is taking over, But now it's driving the events, so it has to have several chapters devoted to it. Dang it! No!
