Butterflies fluttering by,
Delicate beauty about to die.
Trapped forever in a cage,
Love turning to rage.
Immobilized by fear and
Knowing they don’t want you here.
Pinned to the wall
Pain on display to all,
First row seats for your fall.
And they only laugh, a death so beautiful.
A/N: I was reading through a poetry book my mom’s student made and this popped in my head. I have an obsession with butterflies; they’re so beautiful, but fragile, too.
