Chaos Ascension: Origins

Seduction for the wicked is poison for the good

Act 1: Open your eyes wider

Beep Beep beep

A hand slams down on the alarm of the bedside clock; its red digits glowed the time to the sleeper next to it. A groan escaped the mouth as Kesrick stirred in the large creaky bed he slept in. The sun was struggling to get through the heavy drapes that hung on the window the sound of them being opened startles him awake. “Morning” a cheery voice rained into the sun lit room. The snow had crystalized over the glass; causing distortion to the light forming a rainbow of colours towards the wooden floor boards. The light plays off the figure who welcomed the day as it was the last one; Vincent was there tray in his perfect hands he was dressed in a thick white robe covering his pajamas.

“Well we been up for a while I thought, since yesterday hadn’t been a good day for you. I thought ill bring breakfast to you” he said as Kesrick sat up he was only clothed in a long sleeve top and some pajama pants. The cold temperature didn’t seem to affect them much as Kesrick was use to it enough. “That’s very kind of you Vincent” the angel places the tray on the bedside table, he lifts up the cup of coffee and hands it to him with such grace it didn’t seem so clumsy and plain. “Why you so happy?” he dare to ask as Vincent sat down almost knocking the cup in Kesrick’s hand. “Cause you’re here, I didn’t mean it like that” he fumbles with the words as Kesrick could tell Vincent seemed to feel rather self conscious.

“Vincent, do you know why these monsters want me? I don’t have anything they want. I’m a cyborg I would be meaning less to their kind” he sipped the cup of warm drink. The angels eyes settled a little from his cheery glee into a deep doubt as he stood up he went to the end of the bed and stopped.

“I know you want to know more, but it’s something I can’t tell you now. That’s all I’ll say. You got to understand it’s overwhelming to have a new friend in our lives. That’s why I feel so much better than before” he gripped the bed end. Kesrick was feeling uncomfortable with the way Vincent was acting around him it was then Chaste had appeared in the door way. He was already dressed in black clothes comprising of a heavy black trench coat, black shirt, pants and boots. The only thing that seems out of place on him was the feather ended hair accessories that were woven into his black hair.

“Is Vincent bothering you Kesrick?” he walks into the room the angel backed away in fear that he was going to be hauled away.
“I came to give him breakfast and I’m going to go” he side stepped the man and darts out the door. “I apologies for his over zealous behavior he should left you to be alone after last nights ordeal” Kesrick grabs a piece of toast and starts eating it.

“No he just told me it’s great for you lot to have someone outside your enclosed environment. Can’t blame him for being happy” he munches on the bread, it did taste good while Chaste just nods absently to himself.
“Just be careful with him, he might get too attached to you. If you’re wondering why I keep pulling him away” a laugh escapes Chaste’s lips as Kesrick gaffed a little. Downstairs in the kitchen an unhappy couple sat apart opposite sides of the table. The mattress on the floor wasn’t comfortable nights sleep for DD and Delvin. Both were irritable the urge to keep arguing risen up again.

“Today we are going to buy a bed” DD snarls between mouthfuls of cereal as Delvin brooded back at the brunette harpy. The smell of Choc Dracula mixed with coffee fills the gloomy kitchen air. The smell caught Vincent’s nose as he walked into the middle of another chaotic disagreement. “Um don’t mind me” he said as the two of them were locked into staring at each other eating noisy like.
“Yes do you have any idea where we going to find a bed; that will replaced that ancient 500 year old piece” Delvin growls as he thumped the mug on the table the contents spilt out of it. DD almost choked on her cereal; she pushes her bowl aside and stood up with both hands firmed on the table and leans over towards the purple hair monster.

“I don’t give a shit, that’s it so old. You’re the one who broke it with some vampire you won’t tell me about” her voice became loud and deafening, Vincent soon coward out of the kitchen as Delvin stood up and mirrored the arching DD portrayed.

“DD these possessions mean the world to me, and you already desecrated part of it into the wall! Almost destroying a painting I treasure most” he grips the table hard on both ends. Nails clawing into the wood like butter DD decides to throw another spat at him.
“Give it up Delvin, she dead. Stop dwelling in your lost past and wake up and realize I love you regardless of your eccentric crap” as Delvin eyes flared like fire had lit them into a glowing red; DD soon let go of the table free of herself before vacating the kitchen.

Sound travels so easily inside this house, the noise stirs Kesrick out of his bed to Vincent bounded back upstairs “DD and Delvin having another fight” he groaned as Chaste left Kesrick’s room to hear the yelling start up again.

Delvin left the kitchen as DD stormed about the front room, he watches her pace about
“You never will get over her, we are living in the past too long” her voice distraught and angry as Delvin approached her. “Why should we live in your past, I want modern day to exist in this house. We need a new place” she cries as the man grabbed her around the neck. “We don’t need to stand out like blooming oblivious DD. I fear start becoming more and more than the shadows we are. More corrupted our lives become” he shook her violently, DD tries to pry herself out of his grasps only to be fling down into the couch seat with Delvin bent over it keeping a grasp on her. “Delvin stop it” she cries as Chaste swoops in and grabs Delvin from behind pulling him off as DD recoils onto the couch.

Kesrick just makes it downstairs dressed; with Vincent was the last to set foot into the room. Delvin punches Chaste in the face, Kesrick intervened taking Delvin off Chaste and shoving hard into the bookcase restraining him. Seeing DD scrambling on the couch seat Vincent came out of the shadows and went over to help her up. No major damaged was done she seemed fine; Vincent decided to take her away from the two men.

“How dare you hurt DD, there is no reason for you to be so violent towards her”

Kesrick’s strength his grip; it wasn’t hurting Delvin besides making him even more infuriated. “You should never talk to me like that Kesrick; I’m the one who gives the orders and control around here” Delvin spat at the cyborg as Kesrick shoved more weight against the immortal’s body. The book case had no chance of withstanding it was already crunching apart, books falling about the men. Chaste places a hand on Kesrick’s shoulder.

“You might as well let him go. I’m sure he will stop now” as the cyborg pulled away allowing the man to be free from the confines. Defeat awash over Kesrick watching Delvin straighten out and relaxes into a more sedated state of mind. Deep breathes were taken in; they all soon calm down from sudden uproar. Despising from each others presence Delvin slumps into his favourite chair, Vincent taken DD up stairs and Kesrick and Chaste decided to go into the kitchen. Kesrick could tell that Delvin was being very selfish ways of making his fellow house mates, living with limited amenities to avoid having people know they exist.

“So how long has it been like this?” Kesrick asks Chaste who offered a beer.
“It’s a bit early for beer” he said awkwardly; Chaste took it back and shoved it in the fridge.
“Too long, the fact that she is right about us living carelessly in Delvin’s torn past. We are lucky to have some appliances and so on. You didn’t think we didn’t eat and drink like you normal humans do” he swigged his beer. The two men sat down at the table again, “No I was thinking you would have been in coffins under the ground” the cyborg laughed a little though Chaste just shook his head. As the snow fall had settled off the plans for the day was waiting them, that’s if no monsters come by which is bound to happen. The cyborg decided to get the house mates together in the front room. DD and Vincent came out from upstairs; Chaste followed Kesrick into the front room where Delvin was still sitting alone smoking.

“I think its time we get things sorted out here, I’m still not aware of the full extent of your conflict here. Since you mention that your time is limited if I recall. Is there things you want to do?” he announced to the crowd as they all looked at each other. Delvin huffed as Vincent with hold his words as much as he wanted to speak up Chaste was keeping him at bay. It was then an unfamiliar sound filled the room, one which Kesrick was kind of relieved to hear a telephone. The ringing alerts Delvin to get up; move over towards the table and answered the phone. Kesrick leant on the chair next to DD.
“I thought you didn’t have anything modern, why didn’t you tell me you had a phone” he said as DD replied “The phone can be only accessed by distressed call or warning” as Kesrick scratched his head.

They sat all listening inventively to Delvin’s voice, he seemed too taken by the callers voice with ease; until the problem was mentioned he assure them that the team will come at once. As soon as the phone was hung up Delvin turned to face them.

“We will be making a trip to Las Vegas, there is a massive influx of succubus activity” the team seemed to be surprised with then sudden chance to get out of the house. Kesrick was more thrilled by the news; yet not so when it had to be a monster control that dampened his chances of escaping the ongoing profession they are stuck in.
“Should we go and pack?” Vincent asked as Delvin looked at Kesrick,
“You seem confused more than before” he could tell that he didn’t even expect them to have a phone.

“I am Delvin; firstly you said that you prefer not to be known to anyone. Now phones call from some unknown informant telling you to go to Las Vegas” Kesrick folded his arms as Delvin noted the response with a smirk.

“We aren’t totally isolated; a victim calls us on a silent number that only is used. I know sounds even more strange to you; soon you will understand everything” from there they decided to go and get supplies. That reminded Kesrick of the guns he managed to smuggle out of the store. He races upstairs as the rest of them watched him disappear “You don’t think Kesrick seems a little too excited” Chaste muttered as they all waited.

A lot of rummaging and clanking around in the room as Kesrick looks through the duffle bags before fetching several guns; he realizes that Vincent and Chaste aren’t exactly armed for their own defenses. He doesn’t even know if the angel is capable of using a gun. Then there is Chaste who seems to rely on his staff as his strength. Though will it be an enough to spare themselves in serious situations? Kesrick wonder how they managed to last this long without being killed, then again they aren’t human at all. His mind soon drifted into his own problems; the army officers who might have come back to see the place abandoned, not to mention the customers and people who knew Wallace Breen, he felt his throat close up a little.

“Kesrick you coming out” DD said from the door way as she notices the amount of artillery he had brought into his room. Kesrick look from the side as he sees them all had congregated outside the door like a bunch of vultures waiting to attack their prey. Retrieving a couple of hand guns he walked over to them.

“Vincent you really need something substantial to kick some ass rather than flying around and punching” as he presented the weapon to the man who took it with ease and felt the cold metal in his hands. “You too Chaste here” he gave the other away and couldn’t help notice Delvin prying looks into the stash.

“Thank you, I’m not so well knowledge in using guns… its something” Vincent trailed off as DD and Delvin just kept quiet as Chaste rolled his eyes.
“Vincent never used a gun before. I hate to see him shoot himself” Delvin chuckled as DD thumped him in the arm. “Don’t worry, I’ll teach a little more defenses later but for now... lets go hit the city of sex, gambling and provocatively” a loud clap from Kesrick’s hands as the team looked at him strangely. They could tell that seemed too excited now as there was no point of waiting around. They were already as Chaste pulled out his staff and begun the teleportation. Kesrick was hoping that the trip wouldn’t be like some extermination mission rather than to see how they adapt in a much more populated place.

“I hope your staff isn’t going to give us trouble “Kesrick said over the thrumming as Chaste remember the amount of time it took just to travel from their house to his.
“What trouble?” DD said in a concerned voice as they soon fading in and out. Soon enough they were gone, none of them didn’t notice the visitor that had watched them leave. The intruder soon proceeded to search about the house starting in the front room. Book shelves, papers and various literatures laid everywhere; they were heavy informed with everything about monsters. Though the intruder was searching for something else, anything that has documentation on the whereabouts of the weapon, gloved hands swept each book and parchment.

------

Bright lights a neon rainbow and crows of people and cars everywhere, the team had managed to reach Las Vegas in a very abandoned location. Though the Las Vegas still lively hub; there were a mass of people living out in the slums waiting for a chance to find work and earn there way out of the pits. A cat watches the appearance of the five and darts off in fear, the sound of traffic and the bright lights were just couple meters down the side alley that was mostly in darkness. The air stunk of trash as they filed out of there into the main strip. “Wow I didn’t think, Las Vegas becoming a trash town” Kesrick sounded slightly disappointed as he looked around the place.

“You should know all too well at how sin ridden this place become. Casino hotels taking peoples money and giving back very little in return” Delvin said as they walked the pavement avoiding the drunks, the prostitutes and the odd tourist that come to try and revel in the fact they are in Vegas. “Well since we are here, where is our informant?” Vincent asked they halted in their tracks.
“The succubus’s were hanging around in a strip club. I couldn’t make out over the phone what place” Delvin said as there was a groan amongst them all. It was then Kesrick got in front of them “Me, Chaste and Vincent will go and comb about the place, once we have checked in. Secondly lets make the most of the trip and not all work” he added as they continued to walk along the pavement.

“Whereabouts should we check in?” DD asked as they looked along the road, hotel, and casino after casino all varied in themes. Flashing lights, water fountains it was so surreal a paradise that the people. The hotels towering over the trees and the streets as they were all looking at each one of them? “Which one can we stay in?” Vincent soon eyed the one with the large crowd surrounding a one with large ship in a large pool. The loud noises of the canons and the atmosphere drew them over to check it out.
“Well this looks like your era Delvin pirates were around your time” DD smirks as Delvin admire the hotels structure while he dug into his pocket and pulled out several hundred dollar bills. Vincent was glued to the show they seemed to be putting on to entertain the crowds.

“So this is where you planning to stay? You sure you don’t want to like go to the Paris hotel?” Kesrick hinted as DD and Delvin looked at each other.
“Have you been here before?” Delvin asked as he thumbed the money he seemed to wonder if it be enough they don’t know how long they should stick around.
“Yeah a while ago, I actually stayed here at this place surprising you decided to go with it?” he laughed as DD joined Vincent who was watching the ship sink and the performers leaping into the water. “I do wonder if it was a good idea to leave the house. What if someone got in and searched the place?” DD’s eyes looked at the angel as Chaste came up behind her sensing her worry.

“They won’t find anything, besides piles and piles of books and stuff we been immersed in over the years” sounding so confident that DD still couldn’t feel the same way.

“Come on lets check in and settle, hopefully our caller will find us” Delvin said the group as they filed out of the crowds and into the hotel lobby. Behind the counter a young man who was dressed in hotel uniform looked up from his computer at the mob of mostly bleakly dressed visitors. “You like to make a reservation? We don’t have any coffins or cellar for you to stay in” he laughs as Delvin’s eyes brows creased. Kesrick weasel to the front as he leant over the desk “I don’t think that was necessary, now you give us three suites” as the man behind the counter took Kesrick’s words “Yes sir” he prompted.

Fingers danced over the keyboard in a flurry as Kesrick and his friends waited as they were soon given their keys to their rooms. “Delvin do you have enough?” Kesrick asks with sly smile, Delvin rolled his eyes and handed over a large wad of cash. The man behind the counter noted the amount; amazed that such a gloomy bunch was travelers with a rather insightful man. “Well here are your keys, if there is anything else we can offer you to make your stay better” the man said as then a body on a stretcher was wielding out the door with several police following it.

There eyes looked at the strange departure procession then the man behind the counter pretend to not notice. “Something happened here” Chaste said they soon left the front counter and proceeded towards the lift. “Do you sense any monsters DD?” Delvin asked as they entered the lift, the doors closed and then the subtle music played through the speakers. “Hard to say you know, we just got here. It could be anything. Besides no chance of Delvin going near the body to diagnostic it” she and the others heard heavy breathing coming from Vincent who’s hyperventilating. The angel was leaning against the wall very distressed, he hated closed spaces reminded him of some horrible past incidents he kept to himself. “Are you ok?” Chaste comforts the angel until the lift doors opened.

Vincent got out first and took in the open hall way as relief “I hate being in close spaces” he breath in deeply and let it out as they all filed into the hall way.
“I didn’t know you were claustrophobic?” Delvin said walking the hall to notice the police seal off half the hallway due to the crime scene. Kesrick halted them as they soon turns and heads away from it, they assume the hotel employee given them the floor that was meant to be closed off.

“Great someone could have been murder” Kesrick muttered as they headed towards their rooms. “Will have to check it out later” Delvin said Kesrick intervenes with some value advice. “You don’t know that Las Vegas has the biggest security system, can watch every single room, street everywhere. You lot got to be discreet” that sent the group into a anxiety state that Kesrick sighed.

They have to be conscious of there actions; even though they have to try and blend in with the public. The clicking of the card locks opening prestigious rooms with sweeping views of the cityscape. Once inside they were all taken back by the luxurious interior as Chaste, Vincent were fascinated with it. Delvin watches DD joined them checking out everything like a bunch of tourists at a sight.

Delvin went over to the large bed and sat down; Kesrick went over to where he sat fishing through the mini bar. “This is going to take a little adjusting to. How can we be shadows if we are being seen?” he said as Kesrick grabbed the beer out for him.
“I’ll pay for this one but that’s a money trap there” he laughed as he offered the bottle to Delvin. “Thank you for pointing it out, we shouldn’t booked so many rooms. We were only here to get rid of this monster problem; which probably been uprooted by the reapers. We aren’t here for holidaying about crazy fools” he opens the beer and drank sternly, sitting intense and strict his posture very ridge on the bed.

“Lighten up Delvin, chance for you and her to maybe find that magic” Kesrick pointed over to DD who was admiring the large flat screen TV. Delvin tries to smile DD did look lonely; Kesrick couldn’t help admire her too. That made slight jealous streak rise up inside Delvin. “This bathroom so big, everything in here is big” Vincent squealed as Chaste just laughs to himself “Considering your staying your alone in one” then Chaste remembered Kesrick said three rooms. Chaste went over to Kesrick
“Why didn’t you get four rooms, I don’t want to share with him” he growled lowly like a panther. Delvin resist the temptation to laugh but he wanted to keep his bravado to a minimum “Oh well if you don’t want to here” he gives Chaste his key and walked past him and over to Vincent was almost quivering at his luck.

All the blood rushed from Chaste’s face he realized that Kesrick will be delighted to put up with the angels flirtations and he can’t hold him back.

“No I can’t let you do this, Kes I know your being a good sport but I’m better off staying with him” he said in a disappointed voice Kesrick rejects taking the key back. Vincent’s head felt like it was going to explode “Chaste your better off staying in my room, I don’t mind keeping Vincent company, I’m going to have to get you guys some lovely ladies” Chaste’s soon grinning that the compromise, the admiration of their new member seem to finally brought light to them.

Vincent face almost fell from happy to utter horror as mention of women was thrown into the mix. “I never been with a woman before, I wouldn’t know anything” Vincent admitted as Chaste tried to contain his laughter then Kesrick patted Vincent on the shoulder “Don’t worry yourself, will take good care of you” he said as Delvin and DD watched the angel try and keep himself from having a panic attack.

“What is the plan? You are going out scoping the succubus and what we going to do?” Delvin questions the cyborg in slight sarcasm. He didn’t like feeling second in charge as the cyborg huffed “You two stay here. In the mean time lay low until one of us comes back” as he headed towards the door. “Oh by the way, make most of the alone time too” Kesrick added as he escorts Vincent and Chaste away. Delvin looked at Vincent feeling unease being alone with DD. DD taken the opportunity with both eager hands; chance to seduce the man she was wild about.

“Well what should we do now Delvin?” DD climbed onto the bed next to him and played with his hair. “We hit the tables” he got up as DD frowned “Your going to gamble” she said in a angry voice as Delvin checked his money count in his pocket.
“Not before we go find something different to wear. We didn’t pack anything I want to I mean us to look like a normal rich couple ” DD rose up off the bed, a shopping spree and gambling has Delvin changed his cold ridge self into something a little more loose.

“This for undercover purposes right?” she smirked as Delvin just nodded at her.

----

Clouds hovering over Gorham almost dark grey and the snow fall had ease though the intruders search didn’t. The intruder had looked high and low and even into the secret basement. The intruder notices the large tank of which stored a dead angel’s body in, the grace and beauty torn off into bone and gangrene, the pureness was cipher into another tank. The source of their bullets that they use against monsters it still wasn’t what the intruder wanted. They soon turned around in frustration, realizing there wasn’t a scrap a morsel of what they wanted at all. Piles of documents, IDs, monster books, novels, and parchment diagrams none of it showed any interest to them. Soon enough they disappeared leaving the trail of destruction behind them.

-----

“Well here we are” Kesrick said as they entered the first strip joint they came across. Vincent slightly nervous; as he looked around at debauchery feeling he really wanted to leave. Neon lights and the racy words were plastered about the place as they entered the place. “I guess you haven’t been to a strip join before?” Kesrick said as Chaste patted him on the shoulder “Thank you, this is going to really test Vincent’s patients” he chuckles as he wanders away; Kesrick turned to see the angel who was white than ever. “You ok?” he asked as Vincent took a breath “I’m fine” he sucked up his fears and tried to look manlier though his voice became squeaky.

“What does Chaste mean? He seemed to be really controlling over you” Kesrick said as they waded through the tables filled with patrons, most of them men drinking, smoking and throwing dollar bills at the performers. “Well it’s a long story; I don’t want to tell you about it cause its too personal” Vincent watched with concern as Kesrick noticed the intense stare he given.

“Right enough of being so holy, and blend in” Kesrick said as he walked Vincent towards some spare seats near the stage. At the bar Chaste was already grabbing a drink and he soon eyed lovely Asian woman who soon took interest in him.

“Chaste what are you staring at?” Kesrick came up behind almost startling him as he looked towards the back rooms; the woman looking at him again before disappearing.

“I can go grab her if you want?” he offered as Chaste looked at Vincent who was struggling to sit still “Fine, you do that I’ll better keep Vincent company” he took his drink with him.

Vincent was feeling more and more uncomfortable; he knew that this was to hunt out the succubus that seemed to be threatening their victim. The music was so loud and the air musty as Vincent could felt nauseated until Chaste came back and sat down.
“Vincent what’s wrong? You got to learn to love women. You put up with DD” he patted the angelic man on the shoulder. Vincent tries to be a little convincing in his facial expressions he was failing at it. It was then some blonde pole dancer started to take interest in the two new comers and dancing over to them. Chaste was more drawn to the scantly clad woman than Vincent until she started to talk to them
“You not from around here are you?” she knelt down leaning closer to them.

“We aren’t from around here, so if you don’t mind we need to ask you a couple of questions” Chaste said, Vincent looked behind him to see Kesrick come back with two women in tow. “What kind of questions?” The dancer was very close to Chaste before Kesrick slapped him on the shoulder.

“Hey sorry, Chaste this is Candy she’ll give you a lap dance” Chaste hesitated cause he was about to question the blonde.

“I already paid for it so go enjoy” he said as Chaste looked at the blonde before he got up and left.

“That man wanted to ask me some questions?” the blonde dancer said as she got down from the stage.

Kesrick almost forgotten why there were here, obviously Chaste wanted to do some investigating on the employees. “Well you see, my friends here there all just curious about this lifestyle. Especially this guy right here” petting Vincent on the shoulder.

“What you talking about?” Vincent said in a confused voice.
“So you’re like what reporters?” the blonde said as Vincent was even more clueless as to what Kesrick was planning to do.

“In a sense we are here to like get a scope on what happens in this club. If anything out of the ordinary or something has been happening we would like to know” he noted the blonde seemed to be curious and weary.

She stares off into the far corner; where a couple of burly men stood; amongst them was the owner of the club.
“I don’t know if we should conduct this here. I’ll tell you everything if I get to play around with you” flirting towards Vincent who was wide eyed with fear. Kesrick felt a little disappointed as she toyed with the angel’s hair.
“Ummm why don’t you do my friend instead” he wanted her to back off. The blonde turned back to the brunette man; looking him over in the dim light that bounced off the stage floor. Vincent was pleading with his eyes; not to let him be stuck with her as Kesrick just nodded “Make up your mind now or I’ll be caught out for not performing” she looks away again.

“Well I guess the other girl you brought over isn’t need” Vincent said politely as she left them in a huff.

“So will you let me give you lap dance?” the blonde toyed with Vincent Kesrick just gave him a reaffirming look. It was then Vincent was pulled out of the main room into one of the backrooms; Kesrick followed the pair of them keeping a good eye out for anything out of the ordinary. A room was of full mirrors and a solitary chair that many men probably sat in for a thrill they probably won’t get anywhere else.

“You don’t mind if I stay here and watch?” he asked the woman

“I do have a name, its Brandy. Just in case you want to mention it in your story” she shoved Vincent into the chair. The angel was panicking as Brandy decided to start her dance.

Act 2: Dancing with the devil

“So where you want to start? What you want to know” she begun grinding herself against Vincent’s lap as his view was blocked by the barely clothed blonde. Keeping his fear under control he kept giving glances at the cyborg, who just kept giving reassuring looks.

“Is there any workers here that are doing things out of the ordinary, besides entertaining clients?” Kesrick watches the woman’s moves as she continues to pleasure her client. The angel’s brow sweating profusely; mostly from the fear in his eyes as he was force to endure this act just to get some leads. As her hips and thighs continued to move, Kesrick could see Vincent was in a confused state of mind. When she turned to face him he forced himself to look like he was enjoying it.

“I know at least three of them tend to take clients outside the club, though I don’t know much else” Brandy ran a hand through Vincent’s hair

“Have your heard about the murders that been happening? You think that they are capable of doing that?” Kesrick flatly questions, the woman turned away from the angel. Intense glare was shared between them before she got off Vincent’s lap

“I don’t think their capable of murder, they have been acting weird. I have seen them meet some monster outside in the alley”

She whispered to Kesrick, Vincent climbs out of the chair and inched out the room before Kesrick grabs him.

“What kind of monster?” Kesrick asked as Vincent was still being held back from the door.

It was then they were interrupted when the owner came by wondering what was going on.

“Get back to work Brandy, if your two aren’t here for anything but being tended to then get out” the man said sternly, eventually Chaste had wandered back with Candy in tow. “Kesrick thank you” he said slightly out of breath as he grabs Candy and kisses her, while Vincent pried himself out of Kesrick’s hold and ran out of the place.

Chaste watched the angel flea the establishment as Kesrick went after him

“No problem, we got what we wanted lets go” he said as Chaste looked at Candy

“You better go we can always see each other again” she said sweetly as Chaste smirked. The boss eyed the pair as she soon left Chaste, he watches them disappear from the main room fill with slurry rowdy men and strippers. Chaste follows Kesrick out of there to see Vincent pacing the pavement, his knew something was very wrong with him. Night had fallen the sky wasn’t so overcast compare to Gorham, yet the seediness of Las Vegas was already seeping into Vincent purity he wanted to wash it off himself.

Chaste on the other hand rebel in the freedom, Kesrick went over to Vincent’s side

“Can’t we just go back to the hotel?” he whimpers which made Kesrick hugged him for a moment; he could tell that he seemed a little aroused and soon let the angel go. It was then there was some noises coming from down the side of the strip club; that alerted the pair as a man came out of the alley staggering in pain. “You got to help me” the man cries at them as Vincent took him “Are you by any chance the monsterlogists I called?” he said as Vincent looked at Kesrick a little surprised he stared at the stranger.

“Yes how do you know?” he question as the man winced a little in pain; he was bleeding from a stab wound. “We should get you some help” Vincent observed the damage as Kesrick looks around making sure no police coming out.

The man almost doubling over in pain as Vincent held him up
“Lets save the integration until late please” the angel pleads as Chaste grabbed the other side of the man. Deep in the alley way a reaper watched them go flanked by his side the allusive three succubuses’; he has called upon to take down the team. They watched them leave and from there they were given orders to proceed along with their plan. It was a long walk back to the hotel; and with a wounded man flanked between Chaste and Vincent it was harder to move quicker. Kesrick was finding this very hard to keep a low profile they had to get inside past the hordes of tourists, hotel patrons and gamblers in order to find DD and Delvin. “Should we take him upstairs?” Vincent asked as Kesrick quickly given the man something to put pressure on the wound.

“I’ll go find DD and Delvin” Kesrick left the pair who rushed the man away.

It was a forest of slot machines, black jack tables, fortune wheels and waitress carrying beverages to patrons who require refreshments. It’s a 24 hours a day hot bed from dawn to dusk very little will take a break from their addictions and rebel actions to make the most of gambling their lives away. Amongst them two most radiant creatures of them all Delvin and DD. The pair had found new clothes to display their differences from the regular people around them; Delvin in a black pin strip suit, a vest with a rib cage sewn into the charcoal grey fabric lay over the black silk shirt and blood red tie. DD wore a blood red dress with a low cut front and black arm length gloves.

They were at the roulette table with several other gamblers and Delvin was on a winning streak. “Delvin we should quit while we are ahead” DD said as Delvin looked her; his eyes were alit with luck and greed he wasn’t this lively ever before.
“DD this could be the only way we could get some extra cash” he purred into her ear that made her shiver as the wheel was starting to slow down. “12 red” then a sudden roar came from the table as Delvin racked in another hundred thousand so in chips. The sound was enough to alert Kesrick to head over to them. Of course DD being psychic Delvin was using her to his advantage, so they would always win.

“This is it no more” DD said as Delvin tried to stop her from taking the mountains of chips off the table. “DD please let’s keep going!” he obviously consumed in the idea of out beating everyone else. The pair were soon interrupted as Kesrick slipped in between them “Delvin we have someone you ought to meet right now” he muttered into the purple haired mans ear. DD grabs the chips and put them into a purse she purchased they soon left the table in a hurry. “Well tell me whom you found?” he asked as they headed into the elevator. “Young man with a stab wound, he staggered out of the side of the strip club we went to infiltrate. He could be the one that called you here” Kesrick said admired DD new look. He couldn’t believe how attractive she looked in the red dress and that soon got Delvin giving him an evil look.

“Kesrick you’re admiring me with your eyes, more than someone in here who doesn’t appreciate a figure of beauty” DD smiles she could tell that the cyborg is looking at her. Soon the elevator doors open and they headed towards the room where Vincent and Chaste were presiding in. They both turn as the door opened; and the rest of the team filed in Kesrick closing the door behind them. There sitting on the bed with a towel over the wound was a young man with black spiky hair, pure blue eyes and myriad of tattoos all over his rather pasty skin. He wore black t-shirt, black jeans with several chains hanging off them and large boots.

“Glad you found him Kesrick; Delvin we need you take a look at the wound. Check him over he might have sustain it from a monster” Chaste gesture Delvin to come over and take a look. The man looked at the purple hair man with his crimson eyes that peer through the oval shape lenses glasses. Delvin took off one of his gloves and soon placed his hand gently over the area and closed his eyes. “What’s he doing?” the man asked as he looked at the others. Soon enough Delvin finished diagnosing the wound
“A reaper could cut you and you’re still alive?” he wonders as the man was surprised he could tell. “I don’t know, it said it was threatening to hurt my sister if I don’t help them” the man said in a fearful tone.

“What’s your name? I recognize the voice you’re the one who called us. We need information” Delvin said in a low concerning voice as he tended to the wound.
“Samuel Whitlock, my sister Candy works in the strip club. I didn’t want her to go back there. Something isn’t right with her, when she keeps coming home looking drained. Not tired it was like something was sucking the life out of her bit by bit. Then I found out that some monsters were using her to get me to call you” Sam confesses while Delvin wrapped the towel around the wound and pressed firmly on it. Samuel winced as Kesrick remembered Candy then he looked at Chaste.

“We should go back and get her out of there” Chaste was going to leave until Kesrick blocked the door way “No Chaste, I bet they will expect us to show up. They could end up killing her” Delvin injected making Chaste more frustrated. Vincent could tell that Chaste got attached to her so quickly, he hate to see the fact that he wanted someone so bad that he is willing to risk his life. Very reckless behaviour Chaste seems to have at times. “What are we going to do?” Kesrick questions the group as Vincent remained by Samuel’s side Chaste itching to do some damage, Delvin focusing his powers onto the wound and DD staying in the corner of the room by the window.

Delvin soon finished up his work and removed to towel to reveal a pink scar, Sam couldn’t believe that he stopped him from bleeding to death. Neither could Kesrick who came over and looked at the non existent wound that was no more.
“How did you do that?” Samuel looked at the man who clears the rest of the blood away with the towel.

“You’re very lucky I decided to save you, obviously you’re being used as a prop. Vincent dispose of this will you” he hands the angel the towel; he collected it by one corner and went away. Delvin soon stood up right after kneeling down to tend to Samuel’s wound.

Vincent went to the bathroom and dumped the towel in the sink, washing his hand and look down notice the bulge was bugging him as he knew what it was.

He decided to slip into the shower stall and sort himself out he felt so dirty. Outside the bathroom door Chaste could hear the noises the angel was making and eaves dropped. The others seemed to more focus on Samuel and the problem at hand.

“Do you know what the succubus look like Samuel?” Kesrick sat down in a chair opposite the man. Samuel look down at the healed wound his blue eyes hidden under his eye lashes as he flicked his pierce tongue between his lips.
“All I know is there’s red head, blonde and brunette they almost look alike except for the hair colours” he sighed he couldn’t tell them much else as Kesrick stared at him.

“I kind of need a little more information, I know your scared for your sisters well being we here to help you” Kesrick places a hand on the young mans shoulder who shrugged it off. “You got to understand this is hard for me, I didn’t want her to do this as a living. Our father is a drug addict; her mother died and she is stuck living with me in this poverty stricken place. She doing this for the money to keep a roof over our heads” Samuel’s voice hardens the grief and fear soaked the words as they listen intensively. His fist bawled up soon flexed out slowly; his eyes bore deeply into Kesrick’s concern look.

“Sam we will help you, that’s we are here but we need you to play along. Don’t worry we will save your sister from there. Maybe from there you should consider moving out of here find a new place” Kesrick comforting words were calming to the youth who looked down at his tattoo hands again. As the discussion had died down, Delvin went over to DD who was staring out the window, he touch her on the shoulder gazing into the night sky that was soon lightening up as dawn came.

“How we are going to find them, what if there is more than three?” DD was feeling trouble and worried as she placed her hand over Delvin’s.
“You will know once you see things coming. We might have to create a diversion and pray that hotel security weren’t too suspicious of things” he said in a solemn tone, he watches Kesrick and Sam talk while Chaste remain standing by the bathroom door. “Don’t they come out at night only?” DD said the sky lightening up bit by bit. They arrived last night and already they haven’t faced the problem that lies at their feet. Eventually Chaste enters the bathroom closing the door; to see vicarious Vincent came out of the shower stall looking exhausted.

Beautiful lips panting for air he grabs a towel wipes the sweat of his brow. Chaste never seen Vincent succumbs to such a position he soon straightens himself up.

“Chaste I wish you didn’t see me like this its horrible” he blurted at his friend. Chaste just laughed as Vincent just shoved passed him in distastes “I am not going through that again I almost sodden myself” as he pointed at back at Chaste he kept laughing at him.

“Stop it” Vincent barked as he didn’t find it funny at all. “That proves you like women” he cackled as Kesrick got off the chair and went to sort them out.
“Chaste knock it off ok” he growls Chaste soon stopped laughing and the angel frowns.

DD played with her purse; before Delvin taken it from her and spilt the contents onto the bed behind Sam. The noise got most of the team to gather around Delvin’s winnings that was to be cashed in. “Delvin did you win all this last night?” Kesrick rather surprised at all the chips even Sam seems bewilder. He could do with the cash, he desperately prying at the pile of chips. “I think we better sort out a plan, we will have to go into the club have Sam try and rescue his sister, while preoccupy one of the succubus with the money. From there well take on the other two and the reaper. Let’s hope they catch on” Delvin gathered the chips up and handed a decent amount to Sam who was eager to play along.

----

Morning haze over the Nevada horizon failed to compare to the snow that cover their hometown Gorham. The army officers returned with extra investigators to discover that the store had been closed down and the property abandoned. The residents haven’t seen Wallace Breen or his friend Kesrick Hinslay for quite sometime. The tyre tracks Kesrick would have left would be covered over. They started to enter the residence and begin searching around for clues. This caught the eye of the local cops who came over and questioned the sudden influx of activity at Breen’s artillery store.

“Do you have a search warrant, to be breaking into this establishment?” the police officer asks as he strode over to one of the officers.
“This is our matter of the US ARMY, nothing to concern you” the officer said bluntly as the cop didn’t take it so well. “Sorry even if your the army, you can’t break into someone’s place without permission” the cop said as he tried to convince the officer to follow the law yet the officer still refused it was until he got a phone call which interrupted the conversation. He turned his back on the cop and proceeded to walk away from him “Yes have you found anything?” he muttered into the phone.

He listened intently then realization did hit him, the fact that they micro chipped their wounded soldiers who had the new technological limbs placed into them as precaution.

“Ok start running a search on Lt Kesrick Hinslay. See if you can pin point where he might be hiding. Let me know when you located him” the officer said soon enough he hung up the phone as his team had left the house.
“We will be notified where Kesrick could be hiding. If he still in the country it will be easy for us to notify informant there” they soon headed off. Information travels fast and Kesrick isn’t aware that he will soon be tracked down and taken in.

----

The sun was out and it didn’t deter the action; from the tourists and inhabitants of the town continue to be active as the day before. Sam was escorted along the hotel lobby into the casino and over to the teller with Kesrick in tow. The rest of them stay back a bit, Delvin remained by DD sides while Vincent stood with Chaste. After last nights experience he is hoping that he isn’t going to endure another lap dance. That was the least of their problems “Shouldn’t you be over there with them, what if they find out its not his chips?” DD asks as Delvin looks around weary, the idea of quick bet was tantalizing his senses.

“Its fine DD, we got to rest of it in your bag just don’t loose it” he growled lowly as he turned and gathered DD’s face up between his two gloved hands. DD’s eyes widen as she waited with baited breath, it look like Delvin was going to kiss her. Admiration and lust in her eyes she waited though his lips missed hers; and planted a chaste kiss on her forehead and pulled away. Disappointment settled in as DD just kicked him in the shin; it was no use he stood there like a solid pylon.
“Delvin why you so arghhhh….look at me. I’m wearing a skimpy dress that probably is suitable for raiding a strip joint” she wailed as Vincent and Chaste watches the fight slowly brew.

Delvin just rolled his eyes as Kesrick soon came back with Sam and the cash

“Hey what’s going on? Why is DD mad?” Kesrick slipped between Delvin and DD and DD hugged him “I don’t understand why he can’t love me” she murmured into the cyborg’s chest.

Kesrick looked at Delvin who wasn’t looking at him though more towards the security guards coming over towards them. It was then DD had a sudden vision and saw something else that’s going to conflict with their mission.
“Kesrick, we better get going now I’m afraid if we don’t use the time wisely. We might not have you for much longer” the words trembled out of her mouth which got Delvin to turns around.

“What did you see?” he queries as they decided to move towards the door out of the casino. “Kesrick’s little theft problem he was caught up in its going to end. There after you” her words struck Kesrick deep in his chest. Delvin was slightly reeled back from the new information “Did they place any sort of device inside you when you were built?” they picked up the pace; Sam trailing along wondering about the influx of conversation. Kesrick tried to think, then Delvin had an idea he could use his senses touch on the cyborg then realize the last time he tried that he couldn’t feel anything. He wasn’t going to give up that easily as he takes his glove off.

“There is not time for checking him now” DD said as Delvin pressed his hand against Kesrick’s chest; and begun to concentrate he listen intently as he soon heard a beeping noise amongst the array of machinery. Kesrick waited until Delvin desists; the security guards were diverted away from them. They all left the hotel out into the street Delvin had some success this time around though the news wasn’t good.

“Kesrick you have a microchip tracking device embedded into your skeletal frame. Don’t you hear a little beeping noise?” he asked as the cyborg couldn’t make out anything over the traffic.

“Oh crap that means they will be running a search for me. That is going to cut this mission finer than it is” Kesrick started to hail down a taxi. “What does this mean? We going to end up loosing Kesrick” Vincent said in a panic tone he didn’t want to have him ripped from their teams side; after the amount of time they taken to try and find him again. “Kesrick forget the cab we go find some where quiet and I’ll use my powers” Chaste patted the cyborg who given up on the cab hailing and turn to face them.

“Look if they do find me, forget me I’ll work out some way of getting out of this” he said his words trying to sound confident as he can.

“I don’t think opening a time portal to the place in broad daylight is a good idea” Chaste held the device in his hand and stared at it weary. “Why?” Delvin eyes focused sternly at Chaste he was rather impatient “We need a spot where no one will see us” he grumbled back as Delvin rolled his eyes “Can we please just hurry up” Sam blurted as Chaste looked around for a out of the way place to conduct the time jump.

Sam wanders over to a narrow grove that led between two hotels. “Come on” he urged them as they followed quickly keeping good eye for anyone in the area.
“Remarkable what you tend find in a busy city like this” Vincent said as Chaste started up his time staff. All eyes waited as the staff soon torn a rift hole in the middle of no where straight to the strip club. They weren’t aware that someone was watching them as they proceeded through the hole and soon disappeared. A reaper concealed as a crow looking down from one of the trees soon took flight into the blue skies.

The neon lights had faded away; the sleaziness still hangs about the establishment of debauchee and lust. A place which could cause the most break downs in peoples lives as well as livens up them too. Even the strippers don’t live the life as pay out is cut back by the owner; who isn’t totally aware of the supernatural problem lurking in the shadows of the scum. Though the three succubuses were still there and they had cornered Candy, the young Asian who was planning to put in another shift.
“So have you consider joining us?” as one of them said as Candy was feeling very worried as they closed in on her.

Their eyes looking so vacant and empty yet they were still extremely beautiful and bewitching as they waited for her to answer. Candy did feel sudden fear wash over her as she wanted to get out of there away from them she was feeling weaker.

“Will you lot get back to work Tina, Janice, Morgan get out there and work the floor” their boss barked as they soon moved away from Candy who struggled to stay on her feet. Outside the crow landed on the small window that was above Candy’s head.
“Right lets do this. DD Delvin Vincent take side will go in front Sam got the money” Kesrick instructed as the strong sense of the reaper was close by.

“I think the reaper is around here?” DD armed herself with her gun Delvin did the same as they slipped down the side alley. Vincent followed coy like with the gun awkwardly in his grasp. The front doors opened as Sam entered first and approached the owner who saw him coming.

“Sam hasn’t seen you here in ages, your father looking for you” he said as Sam looked around he saw the three women and just nodded; Kesrick and Chaste lurked in around the stage area. “Well I really don’t wish to see him. I’m here to take Candy she done” Sam spoke as he bypassed the owner who grabs him.
“She said she is willing to work, and earn money your father wants. You haven’t cashed in on the drugs” he held Sam against the wall; Sam kicked the man away then was punched in the head and sent sprawling to the floor.

Kesrick and Chaste soon descended upon them, Chaste caught a glimpse of Candy he soon fled and went in. “Chaste” she cried her eyes teary as he ran the three succubus’s had merged into one giant creature. In the alley way outside DD, Delvin and Vincent spotted the crow, though it soon took to the air out of shoot range.

“Too late now, who knows where it’s flown off too” DD said in frustration as Delvin turns to Vincent who gave him a strange look.

“Vincent we need you to go after it. You’re the only one who could fl and track” he placed a firm hand on the angel’s shoulders.

Vincent looked a little worried at first as Delvin trusted him to go
“What about the people….” He was soon cut off abruptly as Delvin shook the angel hard. “Do it or there wont be many left” Delvin barked it was then Vincent gathered himself up and ran the remainder of the alley and vertically up the wall his wings soon sprung out and he leapt into the air and flew. “I hope he can do this” DD sounded worried as the ground started to shake; they looked at each other before they ran out of the alley way. They weren’t the only ones evacuating the premises, as the building as it fell apart as a giant woman rises up from the rumble; leaving the pedestrians and bystanders running in various directions. DD and Delvin gaze up at the towering giant woman who was looking around
“Oh what are the chances of this coming out in Las Vegas. The giant slut of the town” DD said as they ran further away as the rest of the team reformed.

“What is happening?” Candy wailed as Kesrick and Chaste lead them away before the giant left the lot; and descended onto the busy road way cars screeching and crashing as the giant clambered over the demolished building into the street. “We have to get a car” Kesrick raced out avoiding the on coming traffic and spotted a convertible with an occupant running away abandoning the keys inside. The team rushed across the street, in viewing range of the giant, who soon proceeded after them. Kesrick jumped into the car while Candy, Sam and Chaste got in the back as Delvin and DD shared the passenger seat.

“Hold on” Kesrick started the car up and accelerated it sending it tearing off down the road. “I can’t believe the reaper resorted to a astronomical monster” DD yelled looking behind them as the giant was coming after them.
“Trust the reaper to pull such a dangerous monster out of no where, we have to get it out of the city” Delvin said towards Kesrick as he weaved about the cars until it came too congested the only way he could go was onto the side walk. The screeching of the tires and the roaring of the engine as fought to find some space to drive on.
“Where’s Vincent?” Chaste yells as Candy held onto him as they crashed through a road barrier almost sending them into a spin.

Kesrick managed to keep control and continued driving like a manic which Delvin would probably be wish he was driving. The giant hand thumped the ground sending cars flying into the front and side crashing around their path; Kesrick saw a side street and turned off it. “Vincent is the only who can stop the reaper, its air born we have to rely on him to shoot it down” Delvin replied as they swerved again jerking them about like rag dolls. Sam look behind him the creature was even taking an odd building or two down as people were running for their lives, the authorities soon emerged from hiding trying to form a perimeter around the giant creature. Many of them probably left bewilder at the giant lady stomping around, some would take photos before being crushed by debry.

“The angel is out there trying to kill the reaper” Chaste held Candy close to him, she obviously Sam could see some connection between the pair. DD rested her head against Delvin’s shoulder; the closeness was driving him insane. He was more eager to have her off his lap; resting his hand on her thigh got DD’s attention as she to turn around and stare into his eyes. The wind wiping their hair about as some bizarre moment they had seemed to feel connected in a deep thrill of lust.

“How we going to stop this” Delvin ended up breaking the intense gaze as Chaste pulled out his time staff and study it over. DD sighed as looking up into the sky, the sun blaring down shining off the glass. Their car continues to drive wildly about attracted the police cavalcade; half of them were more concern about the giant than the chaotic traffic drama. “Sam. How do we get out of the city quicker?” Kesrick yells to the young boy behind him as he started to look out of signs that lead to the highway out of the town. Though another car came crashing down in front off them, Kesrick almost lost control and drove off down a side way “We have to get back onto the main road” Sam cries as the giant was coming after them.

High above helicopters were flying about; armed with artillery to take down the creature who starting to take a swipe or two with its giant hands. Far from the action Vincent was on the trail of the reaper whose crow form still remained in tack. Vincent propels against the winds; the heat wasn’t pleasant as the crow was making it harder for him to follow.

“I hate this, I hope the others doing alright” he thought the bird darted by quickly as he sent a gun fire or two. Not much success with aim, compare to Delvin who has incredible gunnery skills and eye sight. Vincent wished Delvin was in his position he might have been able to end the chase sooner.

The bird soon diving back down towards the city, again he struggles to find it as his powers working over time. “I wish this blasted bird stop flying” he yelled out to himself. The skies got crowded unfamiliar black choppers were flying about, the sudden influx of aerial activity he realizes to fly low rather become a target. A passenger plane that was passing by the passengers was stunned to see an angel and a giant woman plaguing the city below. The whole scene looked like an elaborate action film. The crow kept flying as Vincent dove downwards skimming across the car roofs; which Vincent avoided cause the giant though a hand took a swing at him. He dodged it and picked up speed he could see up ahead the rest of the team.

The giant continue its path way of destruction as the choppers fired at it. That got the giant distracted away from the speeding car. In the back seat Chaste fiddled desperately with his time staff “If I can make a big enough portal; to travel out of the city into the outer area away from the town. We will have a better chance of making less destruction” he yelled over the blasting as the car continued careering along Kesrick knuckles gripping the wheel “Do that” DD yelled back as she returns to being close to Delvin once more. Something about being danger that seems to make them inseparable and Delvin didn’t seem to mind though, he was more concern about getting rid of the danger as quickly as possible.

Act 3: Fight is over but not yet

Chaste soon got his staff working and stood up awkwardly in the back seat and pointed it out towards the front of the car. “Keep it steady” he yelled to Kesrick who was finding it hard due to the chaotic mess. They soon running out of clearing space and the car was being exhausted to the max as its tyres were completely being bald off.
“I can’t keep driving, we are going to be trapped, the road up ahead is full of traffic” Kesrick was now worried about crashing them all into it. Chaste had quick look back the giant was very close to them, now he creating the portal that slowly taking shape.

The rest of the occupants feared the sudden onslaught of being crashed into several vehicles “Chaste do it, I’m running out of time and breaking distance” Kesrick cried, the worm hole soon formed the invisible gate way to their destination. Vincent watches the crow dive through, followed by the car. Sam and Candy were screaming as the others were holding on tight praying the monster will follow through. With god speed Vincent flew through the intense rift. DD turn around to see Vincent break out of the hole kept on flying ahead.

Chaste turned around and kept eye on the shimmering curtain, the giant had followed through determined to kill them. Though the car was giving up, making noises the tyres had all busted loud banging noises. “We are going to die” Candy cries holding onto her brother tightly. “Close the worm hole after that giant got through” Delvin yell at Chaste who obeyed. Kesrick couldn’t drive the car any further; the thumping of the ground shook the car and sent it careering side ways. Kesrick slamming on the brakes the car skidded off the road onto the sands and came to a dead halt.

Dust blowing up every where; sting their eyes and covering the vehicle with sand. Lucky they were still upright on what’s left of the wheels. “We are screwed” Kesrick coughed out sand as the giant was soon looming over them, Candy screamed loudly as they soon all got out of the vehicle, before it was snatched up and crushed by the giant’s hand. Far up ahead Vincent was trying his best to shoot the reaper, the bird was swooping and flying wildly and it was hard for him to stay on target. Below the rest of the team were on foot “Vincent can’t shoot the damn bird” Delvin snarls he got out his gun and tried to help, it was impossible to do it without moving.

Vincent nose dived as the bird swooped close to the ground it was then Delvin took chance and fired at the bird. Vincent flew past almost near exhaustion; the bird flew straight towards the giant. Candy and Sam struggled along as Chaste helped them as Kesrick turns around and grabbed his gun “Get them to a safe place” he raced back out a few steps where Delvin had stopped. The sun blaring down on them the heat was intense even for them and the fight was going to be cut very close.

The giant almost made a swing for Vincent; Delvin and Kesrick soon took aim for the flying bird. “How the heck we going to shoot this” Kesrick said in frustration Delvin was more determined to spare his friend from becoming giant food. The air was soon filled with the thundering of helicopters, they were soon joined in on this giant monstrosity. Kesrick looked at the choppers they didn’t seem like anything he was familiar with from the services. Delvin had an awful feeling of who it might be.

Up in the sky the crow was cocking as it spun around close to the giant again. Vincent wasn’t in the mood for risking taking it yet had one shot left as the bird flying past the giants’ shoulder which he decided to take another shot. Kesrick and Delvin aimed too, the giant was bending down to reach for them its big hand shadowing the pair, until the gun fire and the cry of the reaper. The monstrous hand was close to claiming them yet it pulled back.

Delvin and Kesrick almost collapsed onto the ground, the giant lurched back and screamed loudly until it disintegrated into a big puff of grey ash. They weren’t the only ones, a horde of air squad were also taking part were surprised to see the monster just disappear like magic. The angel soon flutter down and he looked weak, Delvin got off the ground ran over and gathered the angel in his arms, and sweat rained on each others brows their clothes disheveled. Vincent slumped against his leaders’ shoulder one problem was taken care of another was right out there in front of them.

“Hold me” Vincent wheezes as Delvin put him down onto his feet and kept an arm on him. “I shot it?” he asks as their voices drowned out by the helicopters; and then the sudden entourage of vehicles that came closer to where they stood. Kesrick joins the pair as they were approached by several people in black emerging from the vehicle closest to them. The wind blew the dirt around their feet, Sam kept a hold of his sister and Chaste remained with them. “Who are they?” Sam asked as he kept his sister close Chaste squinted into the sun. Kesrick cleared his throat as he felt that the end for him has come.

Delvin dusted off wary of the presence, some how he knew and hoped there weren’t someone they knew. Soon DD came up next to him shielding her eyes from the sun glare.

“If this is the army, just let me deal with them” Kesrick spoke up as the group soon stopped in front of them. A woman dressed mostly in black with sunglasses covering her dark brown eyes, her long hair blowing about in the breeze. Something about her made Kesrick shiver as she turned see him there giving him a smile.
“Well, well finally we managed to track you all down. This is wonderful for us to have the team all in one place plus my half brother” her voice was enriched with authority Delvin tries to keep Vincent propped up on his feet. They all turned to face the person she addressed as her half brother. Kesrick looked at all of them weary he wasn’t pleased at all.

“Mr Veinstine, your team has been failing to report in ever since we tracked you and your work on monsterlogy and control. Today I can see the reapers are becoming more and more desperate” she said while Delvin allows Vincent to stand upright.
“We work alone, we have fixed the problem” he spoke his voice seemed too filled with distain. “Mr Veinstine your team are aware that the end is coming and the world be heavily relying on a miracle. We can’t afford to loose you all. Now that the monsters coming more and more visible to the humans; we aren’t doing any good exposing them to it all are we” it was then she ordered her men to grab them all “Take them into the truck, we have so much to sort out” she walked away, Sam and Candy were going to make a break for it.

“Don’t take them they are innocent they don’t need to come along” Kesrick yell at the woman who ignored him. Sam put up a struggle so did his sister.
“Let us go we done nothing, please” Sam yelled as he couldn’t summon the strength he and his sister were pulled along with the rest of them into the back of a large armor like truck. Once they were all thrown into the back, the woman went up front and got into the passenger side of the vehicle. A large partition window separated the back from the front, as the driver got in; she turned to stare at her catch of the day. Kesrick looked horrified and torn the horrible emotion scars that had been healed now ripped open. His half sister Katarsha had become some high corporate business woman.

The woman removed her glasses revealing her eyes “Your friends seem surprised that you and I are related” she said curtly as Kesrick banged on the window
“We aren’t related you bitch! You’re not my sister” he spat angrily; Delvin felt the hatred towards the woman was shared.
“You might as well be grateful that we are taking you away, the army and the authority would love to get their hands on you. They will put you away for a long time for your crime” her eyes mocked his as he turned away and looked at the rest of them.

What questioned him was how come she knew them all? There was something deep that he haven’t uncovered as he noted each of their faces.

He slumped against the wall beside the window and closed his eyes for a moment. The thrumming of the engine was the only noise, everyone was silent. Sam and Candy were still caught in their predicament they didn’t deserve this at all. Young Asian girl leant against her Caucasian brother so confused and so scared. Chaste sat on the other side next to her. “Are you going to thank me for saving you from death row? Oh considering that you already been close to death by default” the woman spoke towards the window.

“I’m done talking to you for now. Wait what you mean default” Kesrick he remained by the window now. Katarsha realize she hit a tender nerve in her half brother. “Katarsha what do you know about my death!” Katarsha remained tight lipped, a smile graced her lips. Kesrick waited, the others were all looking at him as the woman didn’t respond back. “Fine not like you know anything, you don’t have a heart” from there Kesrick left the window to resume his sitting position.

“Delvin can I ask you about something” Kesrick settled down on his seat again as Delvin’s crimson eyes looked at him he dabbed the sweat off his brow.
“How does she know us?” he said his voice dripping with chagrin, DD moved over to Vincent and the angel draped an arm around her.

“She kind of been apart of the operation of keeping a lid of monsters; while the government covers their tracks about aliens and paranormal. Monsters aren’t so believable compare to the humans who wrote about them. Myths words stories, she found out about us. At some point the some unknown investors and scientists became interested after seeing proof. From there the Bureau of Monsterlogy and Defense was born” Delvin sighed as he took his glasses off and rubbed his temple.

“You know, she reminds me of…Rose” DD looks at her as she compare the woman’s features to the woman Delvin once loved. He had pictures of her all over the house and the fact he resists letting go of her. Coincidence between the woman Delvin knew and half sister seems to be some uncanny resemblances. Though Delvin’s expression showed how wrong DD was, creased eyebrows and gritted teeth. His ridge posture soon slackens before he continued. “The bureau is where we were ‘reborn’. We are like connected to them expecting to keep cleaning up the chaotic spots that sprout about the place. They come in and finish it off if we can’t” Delvin stared into Kesrick’s eyes. Sheer remorse and anguish in his voice had cleared some of the questions that cluttered his mind.

“You got to get us out of here” Sam muttered; Chaste already deducing the chances of making that happen. His staff was in his hands “You don’t deserve to be here, I don’t know what to make up of our brief encounter” he said in deflated voice as Candy hugged him tightly. “I’m sorry, that kiss once just for show. If I did want to get know you I’m sure we could have a much better chance of being together” she planted a kiss on his cheek. “Well Sam I hope you and your sister can start over” he added Sam just nodded he looked towards the front cab and they didn’t seem to be paying much attention.

Chaste attempted start up his staff, Kesrick kept his eyes on the front end the slight thrumming noise began and Sam and Candy waited patiently. “I hope this is going to work” DD whispered as the hole started to appear over the metal door. Chaste kept the hole open though now the sound was bound to make the people on front turn around. Katarsha heard the distinct noise and realized what was going on. It was then she reaches for the magnum she packs away in her hand bag, behind her Candy and Sam were edging towards the awaiting portal. “Thanks” Sam said then the sudden gun shot ripped through and got Sam in the arm, Candy had already jumped through hauling her brother with him.

The gun shots continued as Chaste closed the hole up, Kesrick grabbed his hand gun and shoot at the windshield scaring the driver and Katarsha “You bitch! How dare you shoot innocent people” Kesrick and Katarsha were now facing off each other. The driver had to keep on driving.

“Back again brother, your friend should know they can’t escape I can hear what’s going easily” she said smugly. Delvin stood up from his seat, Vincent had coward away he hated being contained in small confined places and he was hyperventilating again. Chaste had finished up and started to clam the angel down. “Katarsha that was fruitless move you should have let them go, I wont hesitate to put a bullet through your head” Delvin eyes were ablaze it even made Kesrick feel terror, the two siblings retracted their weapons. “I can’t have people who been in contact with monsters escape. Then again half of Vegas had witness a horrid mess. You weren’t so effective dealing with it” Katarsha put her gun away as Kesrick did the same.

“Where are you taking us?” Kesrick asks as they soon approaching what looked like a large cave in the range of Rocky Mountains. The light soon depleted as the fluorescents that were built into the cabin of the truck were more ominous now. It was then the truck stopped it halted on top of a metal shaft lift then soon descends down into the earth. The thrumming of the metal and the lifts gears and pulleys brought Kesrick to stare out the wind shield at the shaft they were traveling down in. Vincent was slumped over in his seat he wasn’t feeling too good as he put his head in his hands. Chaste continued claming him down.

Delvin closed his eyes and breathed “I didn’t want to be here…” he murmured as they heard the truck continue to drive a bit then come to a complete stop. In front of them a large facility existing under the grounds of Las Vegas, many people were busy walking the grounds comprising or metal and glass structures it was like giant laboratory built under the hot surface of the rock and desert. DD struggled to remember anything though Chaste soon realized where they were as the doors soon opened.

Delvin, DD, Kesrick, Chaste and Vincent all filed out onto the cold ground. From there all there guns were taken off them before they proceeded. “Welcome to the bureau, please follow me through to the conference room” Katarsha chimed happily as they were shoved forward into the building.

Vincent stooped back as Katarsha swooped onto Delvin’s side as they walked into the complex. “So you still celibate and loyal? You haven’t become fond of DD have you” she tried to latch onto his arm lovingly as Vincent winced as Delvin just gave her a cold look.

His blood red eyes filled with disgust as he pulled away from her.
“DD and I have a mutual ground relationship. If your thinking I done anything more with her, I haven’t” he walked ahead as Katarsha smiled caught up to him again.
“Rose still in your heart, your still loyal romantic” she purred as Delvin’s fists clench as he wanted to punch her in the head. They were soon led into an conference room where a steel table and several bolted down chairs sat waiting to be sat in. “Have a seat all of you” Katarsha took prime position at the table as the rest sat down slowly into the cold seats.

It was then Kesrick noted the strange logo on the wall a skull with a sword and a scythe through its head. The coat of arms he seen Delvin wear as part of his entire. The belt embossed with the symbol clicked in his head. In fact each member had worn the logo either on a wrist band or a pin. One of the workers had presented Katarsha with manila files comprising of data and info and place them out in front of each them.
“Well it’s been a while, you lot been hard to find. Now things starting to get a little out of hand” she looked through each file. It was then Kesrick decided to speak up.
“I don’t understand what is going on here! Why are these people even working for you? They said they worked alone” his voice rang throughout the room as Katarsha leant back in her chair.

“I know they prefer to work alone but they can’t exist without our help. We are all after the same thing. We all know that monsters are more than words that humans speak of. More than a scare in the night or fright in a movie, hell is breaking loose with the reapers being out of control sending monsters into the human world” she spoke as Delvin’s team remained silent, they were all brooding even more so Vincent who feeling the worst. The angel was the first of their finds he came to them. It wasn’t long before each member he gathered was filed into this facility. Kesrick stared at her as he soon sat down

“So they are all what enhanced guinea pigs working for you” he said in disgust as he thumped the table leaving a dent in it. Katarsha got out of her seat and started to walk the room “We gave them independence, they decided to break away and work alone. They couldn’t survive of a life line. We had bit of a system formed, where money was passing through to them. I do believe you know the man who was aiding them” Kesrick sat there confused and angry, his half sister was breezing through and mocking them with shame. Everyone was in deep silence, even more so Vincent.

“What the hell you talking about?” Kesrick pressed back with a firm question.

“Don’t act stupid, Wallace Breen is their life line to keep them happy. Same man who saved your life” Katarsha replied as Kesrick sat down in his chair even more shocked.

“Wallace…..Wallace…..no… no” Kesrick thought about the man, the man who perished into hell. Judging by Katarsha she didn’t seem know that Wallace is dead. Delvin looked at Vincent, the look of guilt riddle all over his perfect face. Katarsha sat down in her comfortable high back chair admiring the solemn gloom looks on her employees.

“Wallace is dead….” DD muttered that made Katarsha sit up with surprise as she stared at the brunette. Vincent buried himself more under his wave of white locks the cold table pressing against his face. “Yeah Wallace died via a horrid Aztec ass hole of a monster” Kesrick yelled loudly it bounced off the interior of the room. Katarsha leant back in her chair her breathing seemed to heighten over the revelation. “What you didn’t save him, I don’t understand how could you allow that man to die” Katarsha became very upset now; Kesrick swears she was going to cry which be a first. Tears did form in her eyes though never fallen out.

“We tried….I feel like failed the team” Chaste said as he rose up from his seat, Vincent lifted his head and looked at the shaman. “It was just me and Kesrick; it was a low point after a loss of a victim” he said as the cyborg got out of his seat, Chaste moved towards the cyborg for that moment the shaman accepted a hug. Chaste was tough skinned most of the time he never wanted to see needy or weak this time around he decided to let it slide once. Katarsha watches them, she could have just cried if she wasn’t so harden on the inside. “Even if it was a low point, your team is loosing confidence, I suggest you all stay here and try and improve your skills” that caused them all to become restless. DD and Delvin exchanged stern glances as Vincent quivered in his seat. Kesrick let Chaste go and walked around the table to stand over his half sister.
“We aren’t going to stay here, I hope Delvin doesn’t mind me talking on behalf of the group” though Delvin had remained seated and glowering from across the table. “Kesrick, I like to speak” as the cyborg just remained standing,

Delvin had shoved the file over to Kesrick, the contents fallen out of the side opening. Photos, documents various items that were documented when they were in the bureau. Kesrick grabbed it before Katarsha could collect it. Katarsha did have some extra men in the room opposite the one there in. Kesrick looked over it, and then looked at Delvin. DD shifted in her seat, Vincent inched his file over to him and rested his head on it.

“What the hell is all this? These photos bit disturbing” Kesrick wavered the papers about.

Katarsha remained tight lipped she glared to the one way mirror on the other side of the room.

“Those photos were through the process of our creation. You can see a normal immortal doesn’t have extra skills besides continuous living. We were infused with so many various abnormalities. Seeing what worked what didn’t of course when they realized what our bodies comprised of…” Delvin trailed off he looked behind him at the pitch black glass, his reflection he saw but his sight could pick up some movement. Katarsha was getting irritated yet remained composed to defend her research. She really wanted to notify the men in the other room to come and get things back in order.

“I found you all, and allowed you independence even giving you a life line. Now you come back, you had your life line served. You’re no good on your own” Katarsha stated firmly she remained in her comfortable chair. Kesrick decided to back off he watched how the others were reacting. DD and Chaste did very little Vincent was almost curled up into a tight ball and Delvin remained ridge in stance.

“Kesrick is going to be hauled away to jail cause of Wallace’s stunt” Delvin replied as Katarsha already aware of the military wanting to claim their solider back. The men behind the screen some were already making the calls to have the army back off. The question inside Kesrick head were now massing into a giant blob he couldn’t take the secrecy anymore.

“Look all I been told is that there is a war, monsters and some weapon. Please to god tell me why am I the target all of this” he said towards the woman who remained thin lipped. Entire room was silent, Kesrick couldn’t stand it anymore, taking in a deep breath and let it out slowly trying to gain some perspective on the situation. “As much as I like to continue this any further…” Katarsha saw the room door open and employee beckon her over, the pair of the stepped out side the door was closed. Vincent sat up tears seemed to streak his face as he looked at the others. “I feel awful, I can’t believe I become the bunt of this whole thing” Kesrick turned to see the door open up again as Katarsha strode back in.

“Well, just found out about your little incident. Taking an army cargo plane for a personal house moving. Wallace was going all out to make you comfortable again. I guess the move was a blessing in disguise” she collected the files up off the table as Kesrick watched her, her sentence was mocking him “And so…I decided to have you take care of them. I’ll take care of the problem with your formal superiors. Lastly may Wallace rest in peace” on that note she already left the room. The man in the suit remained by the door was they filed out of the back into the hall way where Katarsha stood.

“Your free too go, for now that is. Soon you will have to come back here and face the end… and father says hi” that made Kesrick grit his teeth; they watched Katarsha and two of her colleagues leave in the opposite direction. Sigh of relief was simultaneously given amongst the group, they all walked down the fluorescent lit corridor back out into the cavernous pit once more.

“Hey can we have our guns back” Delvin asks politely though they weren’t cooperating still keeping them as prisoners. Delvin leers forward towards one of them men only to have a gun pointed directly at his head. Delvin leered forward towards one of them men only to have a gun pointed directly at his head. “Get into truck!” the immortal complied; DD placed a hand on Delvin’s shoulder and looked at him with eyes that tell him to follow her lead. Submissively she continued forward into the waiting cargo hold of the truck. Once again they all sat down like convicted criminals, silence graces them again. Kesrick wanted to speak out though decided to refrain as they weren’t alone. “Can I talk…I blame myself for everything…I was just doing what I thought was right. The bureau wouldn’t have existed if it wasn’t them finding me….”the angel wipes his eyes on his sleeves.

“I’m so confused…some just tell me the gist of this. Why is my half sister running a secret bureau? Why you blaming yourself Vincent… you done nothing” Kesrick whispered in a low tone to the angel. Delvin relaxed his tense shoulders and leant against the coolness of the wall. “They all resent me…I had carry out this prophecy. The war can’t be fought by one person… thus these people I chose to fight this battle. Four people isn’t enough more and more were needed” a sniffle came from Vincent’s nose; his crimson eyes were watery and redden. Kesrick put an arm around the angel’s shoulder as the sound of lift gears cranked as they were ascending back up the surface again.

“Why don’t we just make a bail for it? Chaste open a gate up so we can get the hell out of here” Kesrick said, Chaste pulled the staff from his pocket, lucky they didn’t take that off him and looked towards the front. Delvin and DD kept eyes facing towards the drivers cab, the truck was nearing the top of the shaft, and the noise could be enough to mask the thrumming of the air. The drivers remained uninterested; it was easily for them to escape from the truck. The portal was direct back to the hotel room where they checked in before. “We better check out, go home it’s been a long day” Delvin said in a drain tone, Kesrick agreed his trip to Vegas was tarnished by the horrid revelation he just experienced. Sin city was no longer a desirable anymore.
