I felt the wind blow my dark blond hair out of my gray-ish blue eye and my dark red eye. The left was red; witch was normally covered by my bangs. I was now flying through the sky on the back of a black and purple dragon. The dragon just so happens to be my best friend Hailey. She’s a shape-shifter. I, however, can read minds, transfer my thoughts to others, and control them to some extent. Oh wait! I haven’t told you my name! Luna Moon, wonderful to meet you! Let me fill you in a little bit. Hails and I felt like doing something so we flew off. We flew over a clearing. From up here I could make out a river and a cabin.
“Hey, Hails! Land down there!” I said pointing to the clearing. She nodded, and begin to fall. Once we landed I jumped off, and Hailey turned back to herself. She had wavy dark blonde hair with foggy aqua marine eyes. They were just as weird as her. I looked around, taking it all in at once. Looking at the cabin, I saw that it was made of pine logs and mud sealing the area where the logs touch. To the far right was the river I saw before. It was clear with small fish swimming up stream.
“Hey, Luna. Ya think there’s anyone in that cabin?” Hailey asked.
“Don’t know. Here, let me check.” I replied. Closing my eyes, I focused on the cabin, trying to hear someone’s thoughts. I smiled evilly.
“Nope, nothing.” She returned my smile with an evil smile of her own. Within seconds we were both at the door. Slowly, I turned the knob. As I opened the door, a creaking noise came from it. Once the door was open, we could hear crying. Like a women, that was most likely coming from the women sitting in the chair in front of us. Her head in her hands. Her dall, black hair draped over her face. She was dressed in what looked to be a wedding dress. It was ripped, torn, and blood splattered.
Hailey gulped. “Uh, Luna? Didn’t you say you didn’t hear anything?” She asked, completely freaked out. I won’t lie here, I was too.
“T-That’s the scary thing. I-I didn’t hear anything!” I replied, shaking from fright. Oh God! And I thought walking in on my brother, Dex, changing was scary! This beats Saw!
“Mark?” The women asked, her voice rispy. “Mark? Is that your? Have you come back?” She called again, standing, her dead still down hiding her face. With her standing I can see a stab wound in her chest. Just then, her head shot up. She had no eyes! Just black holes in her skull. Her mouth hung as if it was unhinged. I was a black hole as well. Her hair was flying in everywhere as if someone sending an electric shock thru her body. She was now screaming like a banshee and coming at us. Hailey and I both darted into the forest. Hailey shape-shifted into a cheetah. I jumped on her back as she ran off. After minutes of running, she stopped. I hopped off and we both sat on the ground.
“What was that thing?” Hailey asked franticly.
“I don’t know.” I said holding my hand over my heart. Then, an idea popped into my mind.
“Hey, you remember that story Dex told us? The one with the bride.” I asked
“Yeah, her fiancée ran off with some girl her got to know in California. She killed herself in her cabin…and haunts…the…cabin…” She trailed off. “You don’t think…” She started. I nodded my head. “Oh. My. GOD! We’re going to die!” She yelled bringing her knees to her chest and rocking back and forth. I sighed and walked over to her. Placing my hands on her shoulders, I forced her to look at me.
“Hailey! We’re not going to die!” I told her. I ran my hand thru my hair. Then, I heard it. That screaming banshee like sound. I saw her coming out of the forest right at us.
“RUN!” Hailey yelled getting up and running with me beside her.
“No duh!” I yelled running. Within a moment we cam to a dead end. Backs up against a wall. No, No, NO! I tried to take over it’s mind with about five failed attempts.
“Oh God! Hailey, I can’t get into its mind!” I told her, trying to be calm. Then, Hailey shape-shifted. Turning into that same black and purple dragon.
“Irlym osvith” she growled at the women in Draconic, or the language of the dragon. I, knowing Draconic, translated it as her saying “enemy flee”. The women took off running, but not before grabbing my ankle and twisting it, ultamaly, breaking it. I let out an ear splitting scream. Hailey picked me up and put me on her back. She took off. Man, can’t wait to tell Dex!
