you took my hand with
trembling fingers and a shaky heart,
and your mouth said love
as your eyes told you t r o u b l e —

but you were too far gone
to listen to all those fears;
too lost to care
that your car was tumbling down
the dusky road,
heading for a
m-m-meltdown.

(oh, don’t worry, darling;
i’ve broken so many hearts before.
this won’t hurt a bit.)


this was written solely in an attempt to break my current dry spell. ehhhhhh…not sure how i did.

the stuttering thing on the word “meltdown” was half-stolen from young and the reckless. cause she’s cool. : )
