Breaking You
(Verse 1)
Twenty years from now, you look in the mirror and see
A tired and grey old man who used to be me
His face is all haggard, and his eyes have gone cold
He used to be a rebel; loud, proud and bold
Now he’s a wasted old man, who followed the crowd
He abandoned his dreams, and chose not to be proud
They told him what to do if he wanted to stay
And like an obedient lamb, he did it their way
So now this is what I say
(This is what I say)
(Chorus)
You can’t see the truth inside the lies
And you’re a victim of your own disguise
This is the start of your demise
And now you’re finally beginning to realise
(Verse 2)
Thirty years from now, the reflection’s still the same
Still tired and old, too far into the game
They told you how to act, what to wear and what to think
They told you who you were, now here you are on the brink
You surrendered your dreams, and you gave up the fight
Threw away who you were, embraced this endless plight
To be who they wanted, but not what you were
To be a placid poodle, not a bloodthirsty cur
And so now we concur
(Now we concur)
(Chorus)
You can’t see the truth inside the lies
And you’re a victim of your own disguise
This is the start of your demise
And now you’re finally beginning to realise
(Bridge)
They made you slouch down, when you should have stood tall
They dragged you up high, and it’s a long way to fall
They made you one of them, and what’s that about?
They broke who you were, and so this is what I shout
(This is what I shout)
(Chorus)
You can’t see the truth inside the lies
And you’re a victim of your own disguise
This is the start of your demise
And now you’re finally beginning
Now you’re finally beginning
Now you’re finally beginning
To realise

That Ain’t Music
(Verse 1)
Yeah, listen up all, and listen up good
It’s a well-known fact that is misunderstood
The radio plays what the people wanna hear,
That’s a total lie, and a wanna make it clear
Music is a sound that connects with the soul
It brings people together, and while I’m on a roll
It’s not about bling, about sex or dope
No wonder gen Y finds it too hard to cope!
(Chorus)
So if you love rock music, raise your voice!
Scream it in the air and make your choice!
For the love of rock music, raise your voice!
Scream until your lungs give out, make your choice!
(Verse 2)
Yeah, well what ever happened to the legends of old?
To the music of that age, and the stories it told?
It was gone in a flash, replaced by rap, crack and bling
And pasty-faced kids who hurt my ears when they sing
Well that ain’t music, and what do I hear?
Just a cacophony of noise, tearing at my ears!
With music so loud, and lyrics that are crass
And videos full of skanky girls, shakin their ass!
(Chorus)
So if you love rock music, raise your voice!
Scream it in the air and make your choice!
For the love of rock music, raise your voice!
Scream until your lungs give out, make your choice!
Scream until your lungs give out!
Make your choice!
For the love of rock music!
Raise your voice!
Make your choice!
Scream until your lungs give out!
Raise your voice!

Average Venom
(Verse 1)
I met you at the bar
Gave you a life home in my car
You were cute, and you were in to me
So I gave you my number, decided to wait and see
Would you ring, or would you not?
(Verse 2)
Soon enough I could call you mine
It was fun; we had a great time
But underneath all the smiles was a bitter face
You couldn’t take an insult with a shred of grace
Tried to act worse than they were.
(Chorus)
Turns out you think you’re poison, but you’re not fooling anyone
Turns out you think you’re deadly, but you can’t see what’s to come
You’re average, yeah.
So fucking average, yeah.
Even your venom …
(Verse 3)
I finally stopped to see
What a bitch you really could be
Couldn’t hold your own in a verbal dispute
Tried to use big words with a nasty refute
Made you look like a total fool.
(Chorus)
Turns out you think you’re poison, but you’re not fooling anyone
Turns out you think you’re deadly, but you can’t see what’s to come
You’re average, yeah.
So fucking average, yeah.
Even your venom …
(Bridge)
I gave you a chance to prove yourself to me
But when I look in your eyes, do you know what I see?
A superficial sheep with a mind like a sive
Not a single smart thought or compassion to give!
So I’m saying goodbye, but one thing before I go
You’re not really that smart, and I thought you should know
(Chorus)
You’re average, yeah.
So fucking average, yeah.
Even your venom, yeah
Even your venom … is average.
Author’s Note – Ok, so these are the first ever songs that I have written, so if they suck, that would be why. But, fun was had writing them and envisioning melodies in my head to go with them, which kind of makes up for the not-so-great lyrics. Anyway, I hope you enjoy, and please review!
