Unbroken Cage

*~.~*

She stares from beyond her bars

Wheel squeaking ominously

The scent of dried food floating at her

She wonders how it’s fair

That her cage may only be opened from the outside

And that she can’t get out

Unless there’s someone to help her

Except I haven’t cared for her

My pet mouse, alone in the corner

Long lost and forgotten

Only why haven’t I realized

That I am just the same?

I stare beyond where my room holds me

Trees scrapping ominously

The scent of lost friendship floating at me

I can’t see how it’s fair

That my protective shell can only be cracked from the outside

And that I cannot get out

Unless there’s a hand waiting there for me to hold

But there’s a fault

No one cares for me

The forgotten girl

Crying in the corner

Her fingers wrapped around

The stone cold body of a white mouse

*~.~*

A/N: Wondering what the meaning of this is? If you didnt get it, with the last lines, its practically saying that Im more likely to die before I get noticed. And then it will be too late, like the little mouse, that was forgotten in a cage that she couldnt get out of herself.

Inspiration? Last night when I was feeling down on myself I got my little mouse out and sat there petting her and crying. She wasnt dead, for your information, although one did die a week or so ago...

Yeah, okay, right. This was just one of the two poems that I was inspired to write about lonliness. Its such a stupid thing. I hate it

Any how, hope you enjoyed! Please feel free to leave a comment :)
