One-Night-Laydown
Let this beauty set upon you
Like it was always meant to be.
And it was. Darling,
It’s not you, but me.
And I let this go, and let it seep,
Into ignorant minds, who no longer keep,
The education going.
Teaching love on street corners,
Selling touches in corner stores,
And cornering making love
Until it gives in and becomes
Fucking.
Desensitized is looking more common,
Like the different sizes of condoms,
Hanging on the selves.
Sitting snugly next to apsrin,
And some caffeine pills.
Running for some connection
With a perfect little stranger.
Girls looking for daddies
Boys trying to become men.
It ends, and we’re all still searching.
Virginity’s become a weight,
Extra pounds to loose while running
The ages getting lower,
Until a twelve year old knows his sexuality
And a ten year old knows an orgasm.
Love becomes secondary,
But mostly just a coverup.
You speak to your family
With the same mouth he came in.
You pretend a little bit,
But the world’s still revolving.
The words meaning nothing,
Just like the one-night-laydown.
A/N: Well, I blame writing this on watching too much Slam Poetry on YouTube. XD Um, this is mostly about how sex has become really common nowadays, and it's not taken as heavily as it was before. I'm guilty of it too, so I can't really say anything. But oh well. I like the first half of it, but it goes kind of downhill from there, for me. I like though. :D Oh! And I just turned nineteen yesterday! I'm cool. haha. Well, that's it I guess.
