tasting nothing

my tongue runs along the tops
of my bottom teeth, in the right
corner, the one with two chips,
one on each side -- facing gums,
facing throat. bite down. doesn’t
hurt? no. strange sensation, numb,
like paper towels rubbed on
something you eat, like eating
hot dogs in wrappers. sometimes
i’m just in it for the texture.
