what every poet wants

she writes with hope
the world over will see her poems,
to read and absorb and memorize
the verses she creates.
not to gain fame and fortune,
so people know her name.
but that her words are known,
that every person who picks
up the book will smile and laugh,
or cry and sigh over the words within,
and only then can she be content
that her poetry truly is alive.
