As the Days Go By
...
As the days pass, I attempt happiness.
It seems like just yesterday we were laughing together.
But then you were gone.
...
As time moves on, I feel a void.
It seems so recent, I can’t believe it’s been three months already.
But my depression drags on.
...
As my life moves forward, I cannot shake this feeling.
It seems as if my life has no meaning, so easily destroyed in one day
But I remain alive, why?
...
As I slowly return to normal life, in the day I seem alright.
It seems that every night I fall asleep, I dream of lying in your arms again.
But I still wake up crying.
...
You’ll always be there in my heart. Always have a place in my mind.
I’ll never forget your happy smile, or lose the sound of your hearty laugh.
Maybe I’ll forgive myself one day, for letting you leave me to go and fight.
...
Maybe I’ll accept your death someday.
...
As the days go by I’ll try.
