A Breath For You

When I look at you

You're an illusion that's starting to fade

I know it's too late

To try and fix you and ask you to stay

I'll be here for you

Every single time you need me there

Even when it's hard

to get closer only for us to tear

Leaves are falling old and crisp

But I won't let you do just this

So let me breathe for you

the breaths that you need

Let me walk next to you

in the steps you take

So maybe you won't disappear

And maybe you'll stay right here

So I can keep you

For longer engraved in my memory

Carved deep in my heart

To make me just a little bit stronger

When I smile at you

I can feel it, you are drifting away

And the tears, they form

Like water under the darkest of clouds

Leaves are falling old and crisp

But I won't let you do just this

So let me breathe for you

the breaths that you need

Let me walk next to you

in the steps you take

So maybe you won't disappear

And maybe you'll stay right here

Maybe you'll stay right here...
