Dreams of Hope

Dripping like mildew off my tired face,

The burning heat pierces into my eyes.

Flames of despair whisk all over the place

As panic arises in soft, distant cries.

They echo helplessly in the thunder

Of roars from the licks of fiery flames,

That are determined to take us under

Into a dark abyss to make its claims.

In the midst of thoughts, I rush to their aid.

To rid the fire and hold up a fight,

In an attempt to simply make it fade

In hopes that at the end, there will be light.

At least then, I'll save someone else's dreams

And world from falling apart at the seems.
