"Salvation"

As time goes by, the more I see,
That the world, in all it's glory,
Offers nothing but deceit,
With pleasures fleeting,
Lasting but a season,
Nothing in it could satisfy,
The wayward soul that is lost,
Besides this there is a cost,
Only eternity in Hell can pay.

By His law He slew me,
With His love He drew me,
At a time when I knew Him not,
Nor cared for the things of God,
Yet He called me by my name,
And bade me leave this life of sorrow,
Filled with iniquity and pain,
Washing away the crimson stain,
Of sin, that blotted my soul.

So I answered His call,
And for Him I did forsake all,
No longer taking my own path,
But stepping in footsteps already made,
By Christ, as He walked that road,
To die on Calvery's tree,
Paying for the sin of you and me,
That we might live forever,
In the presense of a Holy God.
