you’re so shy—
always hiding your face,
masking the twinkle in your eyes,
crouching low
behind your brick wall.
but oh, darling,
i wish you wouldn’t—
(because there is nothing i love more
than the sight of your smile, the sound of your voice—)
don’t you know
that you don’t need to hide?
i came up with the title first. and then i wrote the poem. i know they say not to do that, but…what can i say? never question the muses.
