“What?” I complained,
He nudged me again, this time it’s harder.
“Éliane, wake up.” Chace whispered,
“What is it? Damn it!” I threw my pillow at him.
“That Malory guy is here.” He whispered again,
Frustrated, I sat up and just when I thought he was kidding, I saw Malory in my room. I just stared at him and froze completely.
How did he get in here?
“Who were you talking to, Éliane?” he asked, as he touched my unkempt hair.
“I was, uh, talking?” I tried to act, “God that was embarrassing.”
“Yes, you were. How have you been?” he asked as he sat next to me.
“I’ve been fine, why are you here? And how did you get inside my room?” I asked him then removed his hand from my hair.
“I’m here to pick you up. You agreed to go out with me.” he smiled
What in the world is this guy talking about?
I decided to look at Chace’ reaction upon hearing what Malory just said. Chace just stared at him with his mouth opened and his eyes wide open. “What is this guy talking about? What date?” he asked,
How was I to know, I didn’t even know we had a date.
I wanted to tell him that, but of course I couldn’t.
“What date?” I asked,
“Quit asking, just get ready.” Then he went out, I hurriedly closed the door then sat on my bed with a shocked look on my face.
“What date?” he asked again, “You agreed to go out with that pervert?”
“No, obviously I had no idea that we had a date.” I said,
“You were probably too busy thinking about me that’s why you didn’t hear him ask. And you probably said yes.”
Whoa.
I just remembered it. He did ask me out! While we were eating, but I was too busy thinking about some other thing. I should have paid more attention to what Malory was saying and should have rejected it.
Hold on, that’s not very nice. He did after all admit his fault and that’s a big thing for a guy like him. Maybe I should just go out with him. I mean, it’s not like I’d die by just going out with him, right?
Right.
But I totally don’t want to go out with him. It’s weird and he might do something to me. Something similar to what he has done years ago. Or worse! Oh my god, who knows what that guy has in store for me!
I’m scared.
“I don’t know. What if I just tell him that I don’t feel so good? How’s that?” I rubbed my chin, and then looked at him. “Don’t do that, its way to harsh. It’s okay. It’s just a date, just be careful. I don’t trust that guy.” He said then hugged me tightly.
But I don’t wanna go out with him.
“Why don’t you come with us, I think it’ll be better.” I suggested, “Just in case the fool doesn’t keep his hands to himself.” I joked. “I think you can easily take him down yourself, I believe in you.” He put his hand on my forearm.
I smiled nervously, and then felt a cringe that rocked my body.
“What?” he asked,
“Nothing, it’s just that, you know…” I didn’t continue. I was actually expecting that he knew what I was talking about. I first felt this cringing thing last night when he held me close and together, we listened to our breathing that then became faster as minutes came waltzing by.
“Huh?” he shot me a confused look on his face.
“You give me goose bumps, stop doing that.” I slapped his hand away from my arm, and then I saw him smile. I looked away, and then stood up from where I was sitting. “Can you show me how?” he pulled me onto his chest then we lay on the bed.
Hand-in-hand we lay there, our eyes closed and our hearts beating faster.
Our lips lock and I didn’t care anymore about Malory waiting for me downstairs. I only care about this moment that Chace and I are having, this very moment right here.
Now this is priceless. Not everyone in this world can feel what I am feeling right now. I feel so loved and I’m in loved with an angel who loves me dearly. I’m so lucky. People scavenge into leagues and leagues just to find someone worth their while. They wait for that particular someone who’ll change their lives for years and years.
I may not have been lucky the first time I let someone disturb my normal life, but I’m glad I’ve found someone like him.
I’ll never let this feeling and you go.
“Éliane!”
Happy moment’s gone.
I moved away from him, breaking our kiss then hurried my way downstairs. Malory had that what-took-you-so-long look on his face.
“What?” I asked as I plopped myself on the chair then I started eating whatever is on the table. “Nothing, I’ll just wait for you outside. Bye.” He gave me a quick and gentle kiss on my forehead making my eyes widen out of shock.
“He likes you.” Aunt Margo said, “But you don’t like him.”
“I can’t force myself to like someone I don’t really like.” I answered right away, “It’s unfair.”
“Whatever you say.” she said then left me all alone in the living room, “Just lock the door when you leave and have fun.”
Have fun? Right.
I finished the rest of my food then went up the stairs again to wake up Louie. Louie was cuddling his pillow then drooling all over it went I went inside his room. While it made other girls disgusted, I actually found it cute. He was sleeping like an angel. I didn’t want to wake him up, but I had to, poor Louie.
“Louie.” I whispered to his ear, “Wake up sleepy head!” I whispered louder. He still wasn’t getting up, but he was already awake. “Louie!” I shouted, all of a sudden, he fell off the bed.
“Good morning, Louie.” I greeted him,
“Good morning, freak.” he said as he rubbed off traces of his drool on his face. I smiled then walked back to my room. Chace was sitting there, all alone. “Do you mind sitting here with me?” he smiled, making me smile too. “I can’t” I mouthed. He frowned, and then stood up. “I love you so much.” He said. I immediately embraced him then said, “I love you too.” I laughed softly, “I better go.” I reached out to him then kissed him.
“Take care.” He kissed my forehead.

“I feel churned.” I said to Charl who was on the other line.
First date.
Just thinking about it makes my heart go crazy. I’ve never been on a real date before. I’m only about to turn thirteen, damn it! How am I supposed to know what people do on dates? I feel so stupid right now, honestly. I’m practically panicking and thinking about a lot of things right now.
“Don’t be, just have fun. I’ve never been on a date before too but people told me that first dates are awkward, really awkward.” She said with a soft laugh at the end of her sentence.
“Not helping.” I laughed, “You have no idea how weird I feel right now.” I said,
“Oh, sorry. Just have fun, Éliane. You worry too much; anyway I really have to go. My mom and I are going to the mall. It’s the third Saturday of the month.” She said.
“Oh, bonding time. Sorry, just wish me luck.” I smiled then said my goodbye to her then put the phone down.
Just when I was about to sit down and clear my thoughts, I heard the doorbell.
Oh, crap.
Louie, who was playing with his Lego pieces on the table, voluntarily stood up, and then went outside to open the gate. Now my thoughts are starting a war inside my head. I feel weird, it’s like I just ate a frozen piece of fish and gulped it with ketchup.
Ew, that’s disgusting.
“Éliane, look who came to visit.” Louie pointed to Jacques who was right behind him.
“Hello, Éliane.” He smiled, and then hugged me.
“Okay. I’m going to head upstairs. I might get sick by just looking at the two of you.” Louie said and then left us.
“What are we going to do now?” Jacques asked, as he slowly lifted my lashes as I looked at him.
“I don’t know.” I laughed,
“Me neither.”
I laughed again, and then pressed his cheeks.
“I’m glad that I don’t know what we’re going to do. It makes it all awkward and unplanned.” Jacques smiled.
“Let’s just hit the movies. What movies are showing right now?” I asked,
“I have no idea.” He answered.
“Me too.” I laughed.
Our first date was pretty much just like any other dates young couples have. We went to the movies and watched some random film and ate popcorn. Well, I ate all the popcorn, he hates popcorn. After that, we ate then talked about some random things. The awkwardness I’ve felt a while ago seemed to have vanished like bubbles. I had such a great time and everything for me was perfect.
