He pulled up next to her house and parked out in front of her driveway. She turned to him and smiled, twirling a strand of her blond hair around her fingers.
“So,” she said, “second date.” He smiled back at her, running his fingers through his curly brown hair nervously.
The girl was amazing. She had shoulder length blond hair and soft brown eyes. This was the first girl he had ever really dated and he was head over heels for her.
“Yeah,” he said, feeling self-conscious about what he was sure was coming. She smiled and leaned towards him, caressing the side of his face gently.
“I-I…” he stuttered, “I…Megan…” Her smile faded and she pulled away from him, sighing.
“Too soon?” she asked, staring out the window at her house. He sighed and leaned across the seat towards her, prompting her to turn back towards him.
“I…” he said, looking away from her briefly, deep in thought, “this is my first kiss.” Megan giggled to herself and touched his cheek, forcing him to look back at her.
“Is that all?” she asked, leaning forward more, pressing her forehead to his. He blushed and stared at her lips.
“Yeah…” he whispered. Her lips curled into a smile.
“I promise I’ll make it special for you,” she said, closing the distance between them. He sighed against her lips, returning the kiss and tangling his fingers in her hair.
“Mmm,” she said, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling his body closer to hers. She could feel his heart pounding and his body shivered against hers. She pulled back from him then.
“James,” she said with her eyes full of concern, “you’re shaking…” James sighed again, his eyes still closed. Megan swallowed hard.
“Did…did I do som—” She tried to ask, but James cut her off with another kiss. Her heart pounded when she felt his tongue pressing against her lips and she pulled away in surprise.
“Sorry…” he said, blushing and looking down at the seat.
“No,” she whispered, caressing his cheek, “for your first kiss…that was pretty good.” She leaned in again, this time pressing her tongue against his lips. James shivered and allowed his lips to part slightly, deepening the kiss.
“Mmm,” Megan said, his tongue sliding against hers shyly.
A few moments later she pulled back, breathing hard.
“Wow,” James said.
“I know,” Megan said, leaning across the seat and giving him a kiss on the cheek. He leaned into her kiss and smiled.
“Can I walk you to your front door?” He asked, reaching out to run his knuckles along the side of her face gently. Her heart throbbed in her chest.
“I’d like that,” she breathed. James smiled, opening his door and climbing out of the car. Megan smiled and turned to open her own door, but James was already there, helping her out of the car.
“I had a really great time tonight,” Megan said when they stood in front of her door.
“Me too,” he said, leaning down and kissing her lips gently. Megan felt her knees go weak and she whimpered, grabbing onto his shirt to keep herself from falling.
He pulled away too soon, arms wrapping around her waist, holding her up. Megan blushed and looked at the ground.
“That was…” She began, but the front door swung open then.
“You coming in or are you going to stay out here and make out all night?” One of Megan’s friends asked. The girl was a tall brunette, a few inches taller than Megan’s boyfriend, with short dark brown hair and reddish brown eyes.
“I’m coming,” she said, a light blush forming across her cheeks.
“Night,” Megan said, untangling herself from James’ arms and walking inside.
“G’night,” James called after her. The brunette rolled her eyes.
“Later, D’Aniello,” She said rudely, shutting the door and turning off the porch light. James sighed and shook his head, walking back to his car and driving back home.
Thinking about how tonight has been the best night of his life.
